Indian hockey will be like Indian Football soon. India in Olympic sport is disgrace. Dont know what makes Indians compare themselves with China, first compare with Bangladesh.
I would have preferred if pillay and co had taken a walk for hockey protesting against the insufficient facilities and lack of importance shown towards the national game!!! its high time the national game gets its due respect its not that we dont have talented players in hockey like we do in cricket...its just that the sport which has got us gold medals in olympics isnt valued the same as cricket!!!
Indians only understand cricket and the rest of sports are useless in this country. Indians talk of competing with China and dont realise how bad they are. 1 billion people and not even 1 gold medal in Olympics..what a joke.
It is high time that giving too much importance for the useless game cricket should be stopped. That game doesn't require any stamina, whereas in Hockey without stamina any player can not play hockey. All Hockey lovers should take a pledge not to see cricket and do canvassing against this cricket game

chess requires mental skills.. it increases concentration and memory power.. thats why in many schools chess is introduced as a compulsory sports.. even in india too.. as per cricket is considered, it is a sluggish sports and good for nothing,.. only waste of time & money in the name of sports. cricket is not even a global sports like football, chess, tennis.. to get recognition in the world. thats why cricket is not included in the olympics. got that.

What crap?, You Guys never played cricket so you say such things....... remember any sport is as good as the players who play them..... Accept the fact that Hockey needs some charismatic personality now to take over from where Sir Dhyanchand Left......I wish it happens by 2011 at least....

cricket hasn't killed any game, English Premier League and Champions League are as popular as cricket. that shows that football is popular but the football federation has failed miserably in promoting Indian football. recently Lalit Modi approached the football authorities with a IPL type concept but he was shown the door. so there is no use blaming cricket for all the evils, people who do that are just being jealous sissies.
Over enthuciasm for cricket and the over coverage of cricket by media r also two of the biggest causes of decline of standard of Hockey in the country. Other games have also been affected.
