The money from FIFA goes into PR Dasmunshi's personal bank account.

Well done

My only fear is over how much interaction Dasmunshi has had with Everton and the IFA. FIFA launched Project 2020 to help struggling countries develop their football infrastructure, but India has not benefited because the responsibility was with AIFF. Chelsea came to India to sign partnership ventures, but because Dasmunshi and AIFF were involved nothing fruitful has happened.

Manchester United organised a coaching camp in Goa, and are planning to make it a regular feature. I believe that was successful because the AIFF was not organising it, rather it was the GFA and Sports Authority who were in-charge.

For the sake of Indian football I hope Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi resigns as AIFF chief. He has been the President for almost 20 years, yet India's position has worsened. There is no accountability, and in a sport which needs hands-on involvement, the President is busy playing petty politics. Even Sharad Pawar gives a lot of time to the BCCI.

To save Indian football, Dasmunshi must resign and Alberto Colaco or Alan Durante (of Mahindra) or Anjan Mitra (of Mohun Bagan) should be given charge.

There is nothing to undertand! Kick or head the ball into goal! that's it.
Now in more than 1 billion people can we not find 11 good player ( substitutes)? Answer is Yes we can definitely. Then why are we not doing it?
I recently read couple of years ago an Indian did his Phd in volleyball and coached indian youth vollyball team and made them world champions!!! After that nothing was heard about him. Sadly there are lot of bullshit in the system! A proper and just system is the need of the hour

Football is the best sport ever and I apprieciate Club Everton's gesture. But lets face it; Indians don't care much about sports. Blame in on whoever, but the bottom line is we don't care about sports, and Cricket is more of an entertainment program rather than a sport.
But the good news is Football is catching up fast. I hope, in the next 5 years, we get to see couple of Indian players in international football clubs.

Good to see something being done to promote Football in India
by vivek jha on Apr 13, 2008 11:43 AM

this is a nice step towards promoting football.. i wish this would help india do something to the pathetic state of the sport in India.

Something like this would also need to be done for Indian Hockey.. regardless of their failure. First n foremost Gill should be removed n the whole IHF should be restructured

But this is India.. small writings like this on a site like rediff doesn't make any effect.. specially in cricket crazy environment..unless we indians wake up
had this been an article about cricket.. thousand scraps would have come here.. but ppl turn a blind eye to other sports.. jago india jago
