Regarding Leander Paes's interview to ESPN
by siva/sharada on Apr 11, 2008 03:48 PM

Leander could have never broken into top 50 in singles at any time.He is just blaming tie up with Mahesh for the heck of it.He has beaten a top class player on very few occasions(maybe Pete had a bad day )

Unwise captain

What ever little respect Paes had got, he has lost it today. India will be better off without Paes. In no other country you will have a captain talking like this. Hats off Bhupathi and Bopanna for keeping your cool. India is lagging in every field which is plagued by politics. Add Tennis to that list.

I couldn't agree more. But I have to say Bhupathi has been pretty subdued. Meanwhile Leander can't seem to have enough of provacative remarks

LATE WISDOM
by NITIN DESHPANDE on Apr 11, 2008 03:37 PM  | Hide replies

Its very easy to be wise after the event. It can be other way also. Because of his partnership with Mahesh he rose to number one ranking in doubles which is very sure he could not have achieved in singles.

righly said, paes is talking too much. what does he think of himself?

he should infact thank bhupathi because of whom he could get into top ranks (infact no 1) in doubles

Paes in singles????
by ganesh shyam on Apr 11, 2008 03:36 PM

Paes must be joking...he is still around tks to his strong caucasian doubles partner(same goes to Mahesh as well)& also he partnered with old/stronger female Navaratilova...haha big mouth paes just shut up...eat fish curry rice & depend on your doubles partner for a win as Indians r not constitutionally built to play power games...ha ha

Leander should think that only when you are in team that you make name and fame for yourself. How can he forget glorious past when he teamed up with Mahesh. As a Present captain he should motivate his team rather than dragging himself into controversy.
