Sampras to Federer to Djokovic
by vasanth m on Apr 04, 2008 09:25 AM  | Hide replies

Sampras handed over his top reign to Federer. Now Federer is in a mood to hand his top reign to Novak Djokovic. Djokovic will sure deserves the boots of Federer.

Yeah .... Djo has got an extremely strong game ... technically sound. If anyone deserves it more after Fed, it is Djo. However, I wud place Rafa too close as well. The guys r damn gud newy! But I wud like to see Fed holding the reigns for another 1 yr fr sure!

End of the Federer era?
by bharat on Apr 04, 2008 08:49 AM  | Hide replies

Federer has been losing more matches as of late.

This perhaps signals the beginning of the end of one of the most prolific tennis players of all times!

This is not real competition. Roddick and co. have been playing Federer for years but never managed to beat him when Federer was at his peak. It is only when the horse has become old that other horses have begun to beat him! There was no player who could match Federer while he was at peak!

Sampras at this age of 36 also is a match for Federer. So Sampras at his peak would easily beat Federer. No doubt about it.

You can't exactly say this can be an end of federer era, since we have seen players loosing their peak form and coming back and winning grand slams. Its just that he might not win the same number of tournments that he has been winning for past 3 years. But he still can rejuvenate his game and plan a way to tackle these potentially improving players and come out of his downed confidence. He still has the ability to win atleast 4-6 grand slams in his lifetime.
