We have won the tournament because of the new coach Joaquim Carvalloh. I think I.H.F (Indian Hockey Federation) Should Give A bigger Contract to Joaquim till the next World Cup

Never mind the 4th place. Our cricket team is not doing wonders either.
Wish you all the best for future ventures.

INDIAN WOMEN NEED STRENGTH, STAMINA, SPEED & SKILLS
by Venkat Krishnan on Sep 10, 2007 12:48 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Friends,
do you know why our Sweet ladies of Hockey lost? Because they are deficient in the "4 S's" (STRENGTH, STAMINA, SPEED & SKILLS) vis a vis their rivals.

Secondly their coach Mr. M.K Kaushik, was replaced by a Foreign Coach just a few weeks ago. Kaushik was to them what Shah rukh was to "reel" Indian hockey women. Kaushik is a great motivator and brilliant strategist. He is a big force behind indian eve's splendid performance in the Asian Games' Hockey.

Well, let's start a campaign to get back Mr. M.K Kaushik as the Hockey Coach once again !! lets pray that Indian Eves Qualify for Beijing olympics !!

After all,God has blessed India with the finest womenfolk in the world "Indian women R Pretty like FOWERS & Sweet like HONEY"

Mr. Venkat with all due respect to u...teams with the best coaches in the world don't often win matches for u..and since u have mentioned that he replaced Mr. kaushik a few weeks back...I think it takes a lot of character to get a new coach make a team perform like that within such a short span...look at it maan they were No.4 in the tournament....Give him some time u never know he mite make them No.1

We totally agree with the views of Venkat.k regarding M.K Kaushik as he is a is a great motivator and brilliant strategist. It was under his umbrella that Indian Eves was able to improve and exhibited great performance at the Asian level by defeating South Korea and China.
His first International assignment was also with Men's Indian Hockey Team in 1998 during the Asian Games which was won by Men Team for the first time thanks to the brilliant form of Ashish Ballal. However beginning of this new chapter turned into a nightmare as 6 senior players including Goal keeper Ashish Ballal who was at his prime form , Mukesh kumar , Dhanraj Pillay, Gagan Ajit Singh were shown the door along with sacking of Mr Kaushik. This politics of IHF spelled an end to the career of Mukesh Kumar and the Gallant Goal keeper Ashish Ballal.M K Kaushik should be reinstated asap else if foreign coaches are to be hired then they should be Tier-I quality who charge hefty amount for contracts instead of low quality foreign coaches . Given the kind of resources IHF has MK Kaushik seems to be the best ption.

Don't think like a stupid.Just because fo one film the state of women hockey can't change overnight or for that matter any other sport.
The film should be looked upon as an eye opener an measures should be taken in right step for a steady development of Indian eves.
