mann, this guy is amazing. tho' nadal lost his 4th round, its primarily bcos of injury. he will bounce back no doubt. he is the only one who can take down federer on any day. we will miss Federer-Nadal final for sure. I guess it will be Federer vs Djokovich final. Lets see.

Yaa I agree Viswas.Though Nadal gave no excuse, but I also thk its due to his injury he loast.Remember he is mainly baseline player. So he has to run fast. But with ankle problem it affects his running surely.Hope Nadal will recover from his injury soon.
Djokovich also a very good upcoming player. But we want to see is he capable of beating federer in big stages like Nadal.I hope so.Then Men's tennis will be more interesting with federer, nadal and Djokovich

Guys please realise that Rafa lost due to injury. it was very brave of him even to have reached the fourth round considering he had hurt himself at the start of the tournament

ferrer can stop fedrer too.
by Vivek Kamboj on Sep 05, 2007 03:21 PM  | Hide replies

Ferrer really played a great tennis, especially after a set down. Its really need something special from you to come back from a set down against a player like Nadal. Ferrer may beat fedrer too on his day. One more thing since all Spainish players play their best tennis on clay court so i thing Ferrer may make French open now a triangular contest along with fedrer and rafal.

Kamboj i think you are overreacting.Every dog has its day.so had ferrer today.BUT it is not easy to defeat chaps like nadal and roger regularly.any ways i am pretty happy that nadal lost!!

Federer V/s ferrer
by Lakshmi Rajesh on Sep 05, 2007 01:50 PM

Probably ferrer will prove to be federer's nemesis. Federer needs more competition than just Nadal alone.

Here comes another one sided victory for Federrer
by pradeep agarwal on Sep 05, 2007 01:38 PM  | Hide replies

The only person who could give a sembelance of fight to Roger is now gone.It is a foregone conclusion that federrer will now win US open without loosing his sweat.Men's tennis has become totally one sided affair with Fedderer is miles ahead of the next best.

In fact I do.. maybe you need to look up meaning of the work sarcasm. The RSS types don't have enough appreciation for anything which doesn't connect to "minorities" and all the topics always go in that direction anyways.. why don't you (or your best "orator/intellectual") come and see me and we will see who has more brains/gutts. ;)

Hey Sanjay, Mate you have just proved my point with your second paragraph and I thank you for that. As far as Sania is concerned I think she is over rated anyways.. I hope she proves me wrong..which I doubt she ever will... she is rising in rankings alright but not winning anything meaningful (and she can easily beat me even blind folded..that much i am willing to accept)

You are forgetting Roddick,Davydenko and Djokovic.True Federer has great results against these guys but it doesn't mean much as FED himself said,he still has to start from scratch and win against them.Sachin has 30 plus centuries in both one day and test match. It doesn't guarantee another auotmatic 100 when he plays the next match. There are no guarantees in sports.

Personally, I think the only real competition for Federer is Djokovic. I doubt if the other 2 will pose a threat

by sharath tharanath on Sep 05, 2007 01:06 PM  | Hide replies

The way nadal ,plays, with his never say die attitude and his running down every ball,it was inevitable that he would break down. And on the hard us courts where it is not possible to slide and retreive ,it was alwys going to be difficult for him.If not ferrer it would have been someone else .
