It is such a pity that when the rest of the world is bemoaning climate change and has been trying its best to cut emissions that harm the Ozone, Singapore (supposedly one of the most advanced city-states in thinking). I'd hate to think of the emission due to lighting. The damage to the ecosystem in that span is serious enough to rethink this decision.
I'm a HUGE fan of F-1 but disapprove of the way this has been scheduled.

I strongly disagree your point you cannot avoid emission due to light by simply stopping F1 racing. I believe the contribution of emission due to night racing will be less than 2%

The point is not about only vehicle emission. the point is when you are going to be using so many high intensity lights around the stadium, it is directly contributing to the emission. Secondly, when many coutries are still grappling with the issues of electricity shortage, why have such an event when you can have it during the day?
Even I am a huge fan of F-1 but would still want somethings to be under control for the betterment of our own future.

Why F1 only .. there are so many sports which are played under lights .. stop them too ... ask to close all the companies which operates in night .. coz they consume a lot of electicity and are causeing a lot of global warming too ..
