There is no point in comparing cricket and football or any sport with another. Each one has its own pros & cons.

Cricket is not our national game, that privilege is for HOCKEY. As for soccer it is a tragedy that while all the other nationas are moving up in world rankings our pace is slower than that of the snail. We have a lot of talented players but our infrastructure is not good enough. Rediff is doing a good thing by promoting SOCCER.

sorry for not being too clear BSS.What I want to say is that in our country only Cricket is grabing all the importance at the cost of Hockey & Football. While our cricketers are paid well (which is a good thing) our footballers/hockey players hardly get anything. Although we have plenty of talent we need to improve our infrastructure (stadiums, coaching facilities, etc) If government cannot do much atleast the corporations should come forward to sponsor some big tournaments by inviting foreign teams. This will definitely improve our playing standards.Hope its clear
