Team's mistake
by on Oct 24, 2007 03:48 PM

Its true that Alonso is a class act. He has been two times champion during the time of Micheal Schumacher but then Formula 1 is a team game. Mclaren didnt stand by Alonso coz he made some statements against his team early in the season. It was clear that they were favouring Hamilton because may be they wanted to create history my making a rookie driver win the championship in his first year. This led to their downfall.Had they stuck to their experienced driver then it would have been different. What happened in China and Brazil was due to Hamilton's inexperience and overconfidence. Being a Ferrari fan I couldn't ask for a better finish to the season.

Is Alonso a school going kid? He is always complaining of this..that...etc. Instead of complianing, try very hard and earn people's hearts. Now I'm sure, not many like him. _________hotworldcup.com

Important point here is Maclaren lost the championship on the first corner itself. Later in the race the commentators refered to Schumi's interview where he said the team should always have a lead driver clearly identified. The commentry then went on "When Schumacher says it, better take it seriously."

Hamilton was on season one, Alonso a two time world champion racing for third consecutive. The competition was within the team and lost the championship to the team.

Ferrari won it in style, and time and agin they proved the 'team' spirit. Earlier with Irvine and Schumacher, then Barrichaelo and Shumacher, and now with Massa and Raikonnen. This team spirit robbed Alonso and Hamilton of their title. Competition within the team is healthy, but not to this extent.

quite right. but you have to consider this. there a lot of f1 illiterate people on this side who are busy complaining of alonso. what crap. his own boss denis said in china that basically mclaren was competing AGAINST alonso. they were desperate to make hamilton win. and ferrari boss montezemalo said that alonso is a class act. he was just stuck at the wrong place. he had uncharitable remarks on hamilton and his less than exemplary beharior in the season. the rookie has a lot to learn.

Don't go by what ppl write here. Go by facts. We all know what Alonso did to schumi, not once but twice. Let all Ferrari fans say whatever they want and let all media say whatever they want. Kimi needed all support (team, co-driver) and Alonso fought against against all odds still ended just 1 pt below kimi. Ppl in motorsports would understand what that means. The only black mark that was left was the "spy" saga. It has taken away all credit that was due for Alonso's driving capabilities. Ferrari should be happy they managed to send a spy to mclaren. It should be noted that the Ferrari person approached Mclaren. Who knows what Ferrari had planned. Again, it was Alonso and Dennis who admitted they had some info. I wonder if Ferrari would have done the same in similar circumstances. If Kimi was so good why did he need the team to put Massa behind him through "behind the stage" ? I know this is common in racing but it makes one point so obvious that kimi may not be as good as Alonso in similar circumstances. My view only. No hard feelings intended.
