FEEL GREAT TO SEE PEOPLE WRITE THEIR VIEWS ABOUT HOCKEY (ANYTHING OTHER THAN CRICKET).
I personally feel that still we can revivei Hockey, if we can get rid of the beurocracy and specailly THE KILLER FO THE GAME, Mr. KP SINGH Gill. He has runied the game for the sake of his ego and with his little congested thinking, he has spoiled the interest in the game as well.
We needed someone who can bring not only technical experties but also glamor to the game. KP SINGH GILL failed in all accounts. He and his team of monkey beurocrates and Chimpanjee leader, has taken its toll on hockey. Shame on us that we needed a Shahrukh Khan movie to get some passion back to our national game. In the era, where CRICKET with its over-hype, and glamorized and over-hyped players has killed almost any other posssible sport to floursih, people talking about Hockey is like cool breeze.
Hi All It is very easy to say all these things. Go and see from these people have come from. These orissa players are poor tribal ppl who dont have any facilities. Thank GOD at least they have reached up to this level. Give them facility and see where these people will be. They need a big appreciation from us.
Hong Kong is very low graded team. The real challenge should be against Pakistan, Australia & Malaysia. Lets see how they plays against them & then decide if they deserve the same level of appreciation that Indian Cricket Team has got. For the last 20 years the performance of Indian Hockey has very poorly come down. On the other hand performance in cricket has remarkably gone up. So I think there is nothing wrong if the fame, facilities & money in Cricket has gone up in comparision to hockey. To bring this game up, player should perform consistently well so that public gets attracted towards this game.

it took cricketers 24 yrs to bring world cup that too 20-20 inspite of so much money, media and public support..
india is not good in hockey but not as bad as we r in cricket..
and in hockey, competition is also far more than cricket. its played in more than 100 countries actively
this is the way to get a recognition boys come on bring more victories ,its time to prove your abilities and shut all critics mouth with ur performance CHAKDE INDIA

All they are busy in covering Saif & Kareena, Dhoni & Deepika..Ganguli at Lakme Fashion Shows...Symonds Monkey issue and Sharad pawars office. Cos..they can sell these news well and may gets lots of sponsers and money. ....who cares our national sports and thiers achievements. In hockey our national players use scooters as conveynance and are being awarded rs. 1000/- per goal scored.

I perfectly and with all my heart support Onkar....its high time we move from cricket and also recognize other sports...we have spoiled the game as we dont support it and watch it...so there are no sponsors and no TV much sports hungama...if we start talking about hockey, soccer, chess and other games of our country, then the awareness increases and the money flow too.... then we can have more youngsters increase their apetite towards theses games and we can compete in the international arena....Long live Indian initiative on sports just not cricket but all...

I totally agree... Redif pls put this news on homepage. We readers were not aware that there is any 6 nations hockey tournament. Still it's not late. Pls put htis news on homepage

This is apsolutly right Onkar, our national game is hockey. We all respect n support as much as possible. The only guys who were play for the country not for money like, Cricket. World Campions still they r in sky, even after they haven beaten by Aussee. I think all Cricketers fallow our Heroes game, i.e. Hockey, They won Asia, n continue in Singapure also. We proud realy proud our hockey team. We wish them Best luck for their future.
