kasparov is the best. I guess he reached the highest elo rating.
Anand is the true champion. he has what kasparov lacks.. humbleness.

Humility is more an Indian trait and a virtue. Indians delight themselves at being humble even at times when one need not be humble. Kasparov is acknowledged by everyone that one of the greatest players the world has ever seen. Karpov has one of the most best middle game strengths. But the way, Kasparov defeated Karpov time and again is incredible. Anand has to be humble in comparison to Kasparov as Kasparov clearly got the better of Anand in the world championships. Ofcourse, Kasparov has the enormous experience in playing high pressure games on a continuously regular basis. Anand has his own place in the current Chess world. As Anand rightly claimed he surely can be proud that he is the only undefeated player in the championship. That is his hallmark; a true champion's hallmark!

With Kasparov not playing professional chess, the duel may be robbed off some sheen, even if it happens between Anand and Kasparov. If it happens it is only every chess enthusiasists delight! Once in a life time experience to witness. Hope it happens!

Anand's humbleness is great.
Kasparov is not known for humbleness. He is aggressive , courageous and has that much charisma to be elected/considered as the future leader of the world power
(Russia).
People are different.

yeah right,
humbleness doesn't win you matches. It only works well with public relations, or may be we should ask Anand, if it's true.
It is meaningless to compare such personalities.

Viswanathan Anand is the best ambassador of sport in India.

Forget Tendulkar and Sania......They are over hyped sport icons...

Viswanathan Anand has never got his due credit and it is time that we recognize his achievements !!!!

Viswanathan Anand, if analyzed fairly, is the greatest Indian sportsman ever, and by a fairly long margin. Nobody else is even close to him. Paes and Bhuapthi, with their grandslams doubles titles come a distant second.

Absolutely right Sarath!
No other sports person, including Prakash padukone did not occupy the top few places with such consistency and ever improving for such a long time! Without doubt, Anand is the best sportsperson India has ever produced. He deserves to be decorated with Padma Vibhushan!
