The citizen of india is proud on DOLA BANERJEE. Dola has given a identity of India. I wish DOLA be world renond personality. After meeting with Dola Mukherjee at JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur i find she is really a good lady, by way of behaviour and talk. I expect that she encourage others in Archary.

Keep up the good work Dola.
India [at least this Sports Administration and Ministry] needs folks like you to make them realize that there are ATHLETES other than the so-called over hyped CRICKETERS in this Country!

It's high time we give respect and nurture other sports!
Keep up the good work!

Re Dola's gold
by Rahul Bhobe on Nov 25, 2007 06:26 PM

Thats the malaise afflicting Indian sports journalism. All talk of Dhoni shaving of his locks on home pages of most websites. Rediff for all its tuppence worth of reporting shares the knowledge that Sania Mirza fancies Shoaib Akhtar. However there no mention of Dola's achievement on the home page. How will they have her picture as they never bother to cover pther sports. they may well have the photograph of the barber who cut Dhoni's hair. Before anyone gets upset I don't resent or am not jealous of the cricketers. What I am ashamed about is with all the support and the money in cricket we have not won the world cup(though some short sighted people will point out that we beat Australia and won the Twenty20 beating Paistan. The government will give Dola a flat and cash award. The Flat she will be lucky to get this lifetime. Some dumb fellow who would have been a substitute in the Indian cricket team at the last cup would be having sponsorship deals. There is nothing that would change. Sportsmen other than these overpaid cricketers should not dedicate any of their world successes to the nation which did not support them. Its theirs and theirs only to enjoy. The nation does not deserve it. We may only dream that our arrogant and selfish give us some success which we as nation deserve. Sorry for this ranting, could not control myself. Congratulations Dola.

PS Has rediff started a link "congratulate Dola, click here"

Rahul

To Dola. This is a great moment for Indian sports and for indian archery in particular. I hope her performance only improves from here on, and she is given every possible opportunity to better her talent.

Kudos to Women Power
by Moumita Boral on Nov 25, 2007 03:28 PM

Heartiest Congratulations to you Dola, not only as an Indian who has achieved this remarkable feat but also as a woman I feel proud of your achievement and its such a shame that rediff has not pasted your photo along with this news and neither the news channels are highlighting your achievement. But dont get dissapointed as ours is the land of cricket and other sports are given step-motherly treatment. But you continue doing your good work as it will be an inspiration to millions of women in India who want to dream big and live life queen size.
