Let go Mr Gill
by Moin Sattar on Nov 07, 2007 07:17 PM

I dont understand why Gills was 'elated' definitely not at the thought of an Indian victory. becuase he knows more clearly anyone of us that so long he is at he helm of affairs india will play only for bottom to last 4 place positions. If there is some 'sharma' left in him its time he called it quits and leave the job for some competent person. we have sufficent time left for the preparations. we require at least 20-25 astro turfs to get the local boys used to it.

Our Under-16 footbal team that is taking part in qualification for AFC under 16 cup recently defeated saudi and lebanon and drawing with iraq. If groomed properly could be good team kn future. But india lacks such initiatives. some 7 years back in a tournament in dubai for under 19 many experts called India team as brazilians of Asia in making. there after no news where the players disappeared

world cup hockey

India going to get world cup hockey and that too delhi in 2010 is indeed wonderful for Indian sports as it also coincides with the Commonwealth Games. Hope that this spurs our youngsters to take to sports. The announcement coming in a year when we have added a few sporting feathers to our sports cap like winning the T20 in cricket, Vishwanath Anand winning the World Chess championship, the Asian Cup in hockey and the Nehru Cup in football. Small but significant steps. Keep it up is all one can tell our sportsmen and sportswomen.
Let us hope also that the film Chak De India does inspire our sportsmen just as it did our cricketers in South Africa.

Mr.Sandeep people like you can only laugh at others. Pl remember if we can dream it than we can certainly achieve it. Dreams are first step towards achievement.People who don't hv guts to dream can never achieve. So India keep dreaming and it will happen one day.
