Greedy woman
by JK on May 27, 2007 07:20 PM  | Hide replies

She changes her doubles partner more than a casannova would change girlfriends. This shows how greedy she is. She knows that to keep the indian public fooled she needs to show some winning. So she chooses tire 4 tournaments like in Morocco and Istanbul and partners whoever just to win a few doubles matches just to TAKE THE ATTENTION AWAY FROM HER FIRST ROUND SINGLES DEFEATS.

Indian fans who are ignorant go ga ga over her doubles victory in TIRE 4 TOURNAMENTS which are insignificant. She has a great marketing mind to somehow keep herself in the news. What a losers these indian fans. Both in cricket and tennis.

Very well said, JK! She has neither the on-court athleticism, nor the perfection to make it to the top 30 in singles! It is a pity that our country indulges only in hero-worshipping rather than being patriotic in the true sense! The Sanias, Sachins and Souravs take mileage out of this national attitude and earn millions while the country suffers!

SELECT A INDIAN PAIR
by bhaskar on May 26, 2007 09:58 PM  | Hide replies

WHY SHE WANT ALWAYS DIFERENT PARTNER FOR EACH TOURNMENT. INSTEAD SHE WOULD HAVE SELECTED ANY INDIAN PLAYER. SO THAT THEY CAN PRACTICE AND SHOULD HAVE WON MORE GAMES. INDIANS STAYING IN OTHER COUNTRIES ARE PLAYING UNDER THE BANNER OF INDIA. SO WHAT'S PROBLEM WITH SANIA

That could possibly be a reason, JK! I also doubt Ms. Sania's claims about she being the one looking to change her coaches and partners, whereas the reality may be different: it must be the coaches and partners who dump her because of her attitude! (and possibly Mr. Mirza's interference!)

we should not criticize sania instead support her. She is the one who made indians proud. Govt and every1 should support her instead wasting time with our indian cricketers.
She has talent and need to work hard.
WELL DONE SANIA............U HAVE SET AN EXAMPLE TO ALL INDIAN FEMALES THAT ANYONE CAN MAKE IN TO INTERNATIONAL LEVEL.........

Give credit to her
by nitin agale on May 26, 2007 08:05 PM

Guys,

India does not produce good sportmans period. Even indians abroad dont manage to achieve too much in sports (In US, the indian youth aka ABCD's hardly make it to any sport with all the money and facility)

Cutting the long story short .....she is the best in India in individual sports....agreed she is not among the elite players...but everyone of us must encourage her since she is the among the best the nation has produced so far

Cheers

Sania Mirza
by Chandramohan V on May 26, 2007 06:00 PM  | Hide replies

What the over-rated Sania Mirza is woefully lacking in in her game of tennis she amply makes up by making tall claims. The Indian sports jounnalists and a large section of the Indian public are so gullible that the go crazy whenever Sania manages one of her very rare wins in Singles! She has had to hunt for her Doubles partners more often that she had to change her T-shirts, simply because no tennis player wants to partner her a second time. Liezel Huber was an just exception and even she has quit now.

Highly overrated..

All wins in small tournaments... she hasn't come close to winning any grandslam... media should stop over hyping her... her claims to fame is that perhaps all other India women have been far worse than her..

If you have followed world class tennis trends, no player (lady/gent) who has made it to the top has lost to qualifiers and lowly ranked opponents as a matter of routine as Ms. Sania has been doing! Moreover, with her kind of sissy service and clumsy on-court movements, she has managed to achieve higher places than she ever deserved! Mark my words: she has crossed the peak of her singles career - it is going to be one continuous downslide now! Instead, she should give up singles and concentrate on doubles; maybe she'll be able to go high in the doubles circuit. Anyway, here's wishing her ALL THE BEST, whether in singles or doubles! I sincerely hope that she had been feigning all those injuries - if they have been real, she definitely is not endowed with a body to last long in the circuit! So, stop going ga-ga over her, people!

Ramesh, Don't make an ass of yourself! What lack of support are you talking about? Governments (including govts of states who had no business to be so lavish) have given her more than the fair share of money that she deserved! She has been awarded a National Honour for non-sporting reasons! She has found enough and more sponsors ready to shower her with money, god knows for what! Please make it a habit to READ newspapers and articles before venturing out to WRITE in public forums.
