FED AGAINST NADAL
by skon on May 22, 2007 09:42 AM

Yes, most of the people here are correct...In RG NADAL is favourite...but now if FED by any chance able to meet wid NADAL in RG then FED can easily think at that time that he can beat NADAL...In other GS's I really don't know how NADAL will feel if he meets wid FED...and this is also true it is not that easy 4 NADAL to meet wid FED in other SLAMS.....

see winning one final is not enough for you,you have to keep the momentum going till end of french open then only you can turn thing's on top.it's hard to accept that roger is not a fine player in clay comparing to nadal, see these two guys have a lot in common in between them and the way they play.if u ask me i'll definitely say roger is my hot favourite, nadal has lot to prove in the grass court like wise roger has to prove in clay.it seems to me that only these guys share n0 1 & 2.

Fed played well

It was good for federer's confidence that he finally beat Nadal on clay and also came out of worst slump after becoming No1.
But Fed beat Nadal in best of 3 final and it will be interesting to see if Fed can beat him in best of 5 set Match.
Any way best of luck for both the guys for French Open.

Fed-Ex all the way

In all their previous meetings one could see Nadal hitting 80% of his returns to King Fed's backhand. The key to Fed's victory in this game for me, in addition to the superb first serve percentage from the second set onwards, was that he ensured that Nadal was the one playing all the back hand strokes and not the usual stinging-top-spinning forehands. The Federer forehand needless to say is equally hard to handle on all surfaces. If only he can execute the same strategy in Roland Garros too.

It is gud to see Federer beating Nadal on clay. Federer played flawless tennis. The french open is going to be intresting to see. Nadal will be all out to get back on Federer, and Federer will be fighting hard to win the french open.
In the final when they meet,I personally would give Nadal the edge over Federer.

It is interesting to also see the manner in which Fed won the match. In the 3rd set, he just shut the door firmly, and used his higher % of 1st serves, came a lot to the net, tightened his forehand and , I also feel, started hitting his forehand and backhand with a little extra power. The penetration and placement was awesome, as was the sheer brutal pace. Nadal was simply not able to cope. I think that Nadal may look physically strong, but Fed looks like he generates physical power only when he needs it the most-otherwise it is mostly timing. He seems to have a unique combination of flexibility (pivot) in his upper body and strength that enables him to unleash those killer forehand shots. Nadal is slightly better hitting top-spin, but Fed takes 'em just a wee bit better on the rise.
