Two time NFL winners Dempo Sports Club could begin their preparations for the AFC international fixtures !
by cajetan coelho on May 18, 2007 03:41 AM

The ongoing NFL has been terrific. Mighty East Bengal has scored some memorable victories against top class opponents. Man for man the renowned Kolkata giants were as good as any if not better.

Mahindra United has been having a long season. Participation in the local Cup and League ties in Mumbai, events like the Fed Cup, Durand, IFA, NFL, AFC engagements and regular call ups for some of their talented stars for Team India stretched the young side a bit more than the others. Good luck and courage to the jeepmen in their remaining ties in the ongoing AFC.

Meanwhile congratulations to Dempo Sports Club for the beautiful football they have been playing from 1968 onwards. The newly crowned champion club of India can do a lot more to raise the level of soccer in our country. Viva Dempo ! Viva Goa !

Sadly no one here to write about Indian Foot Ball because of domination of Cricket in India. Even 80% of the Indians do not know who are playing NFL first division? But in cricket, people are competiting each other for abusing like some one writing for Dravid, Sachin, Sehwag, Ganguly etc etc. It is very sad. Foot ball is a dead game in India.

East or West Goa are the best when it comes to soccer. The only reason that the Calcutta teams won so many tournaments in the past was because of their habit of buying the best players on offer in Indian football.(See how they poached another Goan Alvito D'cunha some years back). So naturally they won most of the matches and tournaments. These days teams like Mahindras are also matching the Kolkatta teams in buying power and the result is the Kolkatta teams are struggling. When it comes to talent and love of playing soccer, there is no beating the goans. They are the undisputed Kings of Indian football. East Bengal, Mohun Bags and Mahindras may have the money bags, Goans have the talent. Long Live Goan Football.

Its absolutely OK....The same thing happens everywhere in the world.Foreigners are dominating EPL, Primiera Leaga,Serie A...Its about performance..If indian players cant perform...why blame the foreigners ?????? The spesctators come to see good football , goals..not drab , boring soccer. We need more foreign players to take indian football forward..
