Indians have 16 astroturf grounds while pakistan have only four. But still Pakistan is way ahead of India. Indians lack killing instinct man.

False Optimism
by Nigel Menezes on May 08, 2007 08:42 AM

a 1-0 loss against australia, well, good but we lost, and a 5-4 win against china who we would have never considered a strong hockey nation a year ago and you are happy ?

The real mettle of this indian team will be when we play against the likes of germany, spain, argentina, england, holland and in real competition.

when it comes to real hockey like the WC or the champions, we get the worst trashing of our lives.

With the crappy defense against china, JC, you have a lot of homework to do.

we will wait and see, JC. and good luck against argentina

My friend team participating in this tournament includes pakistan & korea, which already given us tough time. Winning this tournament is not a joke & also India has entered with inexperience players so it's really tough time ahead for India.

IN 2002 in mumbia when germany beat india in mumbai - goal scoree was playing his first match .
come on get it right the first time we play and we can do it if we want . WANT is aquestion

definitely an improvement
by Arun Nayar on May 08, 2007 03:42 AM

the team has definitely improved. They defeated the team that beat them in the Asian games. Question is, is that enough to be satisfied. There was a time when games against teams like China was meant for experimentation and general timepass. Now we are getting narrow victories over them. So has Indian hockey's standard fallen or have China and Japan improved so much????

India will win against Argentina!
by Krishnaprasad on May 07, 2007 10:16 PM

Its been the pessimistic thought that drives us indian fans down again. But I am pretty sure that we will beat argentina to set the tone for the tournament.

All the best boys!!

why are you guys getting worked up. he is just stating the truth. India has not won against Argentina recently and there is no indication that they will do so this time. After all Argentina defeated Australia and India lost.

Yeah...that's what we r good at..hoping against hope, expecting miracles without any hard work and preparation. Even if we win this tournament ours is not a great Hockey Team.
