THE LOSS IS TERRIBLE
by shail yaaaa on May 06, 2007 02:36 AM

JUST NOTE THAT THE AUSSIES WERE PLAYING WITHOUT THEIR SEVEN BEST PLAYERS. THIS INDIAN TEAM WILL MORE OR LESS REMAIN SAME. WE HAVE TO UNDERGO IMPROVED TRAINING IN FITNESS AND ALSO OUR TACTICS SHOULD BE PLANNED WELL IN ADVANCE.

India really fought well to keep Aussies to just 1 goal.
by Ganesh Ramesh on May 05, 2007 08:27 PM

INDIA might have lost, but they must take heart in the fact that they managed to keep the mighty Aussies to just 1 goal. That means there is a lot of hope still left for India in the tournament. We really must have played well amazing hockey to keep mighty Aussies down to just a solitary goal. Isn't this
itself good ?

I have seen India play matches against Korea and Malaysia in my city Hyderabad when Afro Asian Games were held. Also Holland had played a Test series against India here. We have amazing facilities for Hockey in South India with 4 Astro Turf grounds including one Olympic Standard stadium. I was happy to see that Indians played really fast and attacking hockey and rate of penalty corner conversions were high. But that was 2 years ago. Off late the same can't be said of the team...as some key players like Penalaty corner specialists JUGRAJ SINGH and LEN AIYAPPA are often IN and OUT of the team due to injuries.

Still I feel we are a young and dynamic team.
We have some good players like VIREN RASQUINHA , DEEDAR SINGH , SANDEEP MICHAEL , WILLIAM XALCO and the "AMAZING" ARJUN HALAPPA who are all extremely talented and fast on the turf.

But it surely takes something to beat Aussies. They are simply too strong in all sport. Be it Cricket, Hockey , Cycling , Swimming or Olympic sport.. Aussies are a bundle of energy and enthusiasm and they play to win always. The Aussie player's commmitment to their respective sport, scientific methods of training added to their strict diet control , physical fitness and agility is what makes them CONFIDENT and their killer instinct in all games is what demoralizes oppositions and forces them into submission. Considering all this INDIA has done a great job and made a fist of it in their first match today by keeping the GOAL DIFFERENCE very minimal, although they might have lost to a stronger team.

We definitely can take the positives from this match and go on to win other matches and who knows we could be in the FINAL of the Azlan Shah. Hope that happens. That in itself would be a shot in the arm (whether we lose or win in Finals is secondary) and a morale booster for India's National Sport.

Come on guys ..Lets support and have faith in our TEAM INDIA.

With Gill We can't Win any international match
by amjad khan on May 05, 2007 07:50 PM

With Gill and supporting party we can't win Any international match. If we want to win any match. FIrst of all Mr. Gill has to give his job to others.
Remember good players they removed without any reasons. Why they removed Dhanraj Pillai. He is one best player india has produced. He has true International quality on ground. Most of our present team players not so quick. This is the one reason we are losing.

I agree with Anand. Hockey is seriously thrilling game. Tomorrow's match should be a good entertainer. Let's cheer for our team.

Listen folks. Let us face the facts. V r not even a cricket-crazy country. Howw many of us bother to watch a Ranji Trophy cricket match or a club match. V only rave about "Team India".

We have to encourage our sportspersons by being present at club matches in Hockey/cricket and root for them. We must go to stadia. Then only a sports-atmosphere will develop.Being Couch-potato in front of TV for World cup criket is no use.
