whn milan is in tht kind of form then u shudnt find faults in the opposition. man utd were outclassed by milan. plain n simple.

man utd did a good job by winning their home match. nothing much should be expected from it whn they are playin against a club like milan. this effort was way better than their last effort whn they couldnt score even a single goal in both the legs against milan. forget abt scoring, they didnt even come close to scoring any goal. this time it was definitely better than the last time.

Milan is not the traditional Italian side, they play attractive football at times. Gattusso was majestic. he just tackled the crap out of Ronaldo. good to see that Fergie gave all the credit to milan. this is in sharp contrast to Moanrinho who said that Chelsea were the better team in the second leg. i am glad that Chelsea lost. final will be just fantastic.

Beware Ye Finalists! (From Faghi, Eritrea)

If AC Milan thinks of a big margin lead and The Reds are depending on a miracle (though well deserved)in Athens as in 2005, both teams will be in for a surprise. A revenge dish served cold goes highwire sometimes and miracles don't occur twice in three years' time. Both teams are better served to forget 2005 and prepare properly for the night of May the 23rd. Football match wins always come the hard way! And no one better than AC Milan knows this!Go Reds Go!!!

The last match couldn't live up to the hype. ManU players lacked the sparked and failed to keep the possession. Gattuso single handedly was responsible for keeping Ronaldo strides in check.

May be it was a lot of football or fatigue or pressure which got better of ManU but Milan was the better side by a distance. Kaka was testing the defence often. If they keep this performance, they are Europe's champions this time, but we must remember that Liverpool is the world's most inpredictable team. On their day, they can beat world XI.

I am a Manu fan but I like Milan too and after watching such display, I am not complaining..

India lacks soccer culture
by Mr Lee on May 03, 2007 11:49 AM  | Hide replies

99.99% of Indians who claim to be soccer fans are all fakes. Soccer is the 'in' thing and we have many wannabes here in India who knows nothing abt soccer but want to be in the gang of soccer enthusiasts. so they support english clubs and england as thts wht is covered by the Indian media.

for those 99.99 % fake Indians, espn star soccer panel decides who is the best player in the world (who else but someone playing in the EPL). for such people

Best Player - Beckham (even to this date)

Best Defender - Terry

Best Midfielder - Christiano Ronaldo

Best Goalie - Dudek/Cech

Best Striker - Henry

Most promising youngster - Rooney

All time greatest player - Charlton/Best

its not a coincidence that all these players play in the EPL. its lack of knowledge of such wannabes.

However for the remaining 0.01 % of soccer fans in India and 100% of the soccer fans outside the great briton, the list is very different.

Best Player - Kaka

Best Defender - Nesta

Best Midfielder - Ronaldinho

Best Goalie - Buffon

Best Striker - Henry/Eto

Most promising youngster - Messi

All time greatest player - Pele/Maradona/Baggio

99.99% of Indian soccer fans will cheer for Liverpool in the finals on champs league while the remaining 0.01% will laugh at those ignorant supporters.

As for those who believe tht liverpool did actually defeat milan the last time they met in the finals of the same competition.... How many of you really believe that liverpool deservedly won it??? milan were later penalised for match fixing. wanst tht match very very suspicious. Milan agreed tht they fixed a few matchs. Uefa did a cover up by not conducting an inquiry into tht match as tht wud dent the popularity of their premier club competition.

i agree with most of Mr.Lee's views but Ronaldinho has been just 50 % of himself. yet his far better than most of them. atm Kaka is the best player in the world, no doubt. i would recommend ayala, nesta, terry and carvalho in the best defender category. also i believe Casillas is the best goalie in the world. Messi is way ahead of Roonie and Iniesta is aspecial talent.

haha agree dude I tend to disagree with ur best Midfielder. Ronaldinho is great but this season he has been rubbish. Hell Liverpool made him look ridiculous. So don't give me that crap. Being a Liverpool fan and as much as I hate to say it, Ronaldo of MAN UTD has been way above all the midfielders this season and he could easily take KAKA on for the EUROPEAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR this year. Its not about us knowing the english game only but 3 of the 4 teams in the CL were ENGLISH teams speaks volumes for the talent in this league. So please take your anaysis elsewhere. As much as I hate to say this too but MAN U have been the best team in Europe this season. They have been the most consistent. They have played brilliant football and have come back more often than any other team. They just had 1 bad game against AC and dat was because of that idiot BROWN. I don't know how Sir Alex has confidence to still keep him. But from a Liverpool fan, I tip my hat off to United.

yes u're right my friend, theres no doubt that kaka is best in europe and if milan wins cl then he might even get european player of the year.but noone can underestimate ronaldo's performance this year,he's been simply the best through the season, and ofcourse he single handedly took manu to the top with 3 games to go.club football is not about just one or two games, perfomance through the season counts, and in that case ronaldo could get european player of the year, dont forget thrashing of one of the italian giant roma by manu 7-1,where do we get see that scoreline,so please mr lee u just cant comment about a team or a player on basis of thier perfomance in one or two game.out of 4 best team in europe, three are from england.and hopefully the best will be liverpool.

Kaka is a special player, when the team needs him most he performs. Whereas, Ronaldo has single handedly helped Man UTd. this season, its like comparing Gilchrist World cup century to the consistency of Hayden. Both, players are crucial. However, when it comes to Champions League Kaka is light years ahead of Ronaldo in other words Kaka has big match temperament, which is something that Ronaldo has not found (much like Tendulkar he fails at a do or die situation).
So, as far as European player is concerned this factor tilts the scales in favor of Kaka.

well if some of u are so sure tht players playing in EPL are the best thn who can make u see the point.

its nothing but the media coverage tht has blinded u. dont go by this years results. not so long ago we had 3 italian teams in the semi finals. tht only means tht the clubs had a good run in tht particluar year.

as for the players, a good player is a good player cos he is a good player...n not cos espn start panel projects them as outstanding players so tht they can make ignorant people watch them play.

everyone knows tht beckham has achieved nothing in soccer except for some popularity gifted to them by the brit and asian media. wht has he achieved outside EPL??!!... hmmmm do u rem how he missed crucial penalties in the qualifying matches of major tournaments??!!

wht has owen achieved outside EPL???

unfortunately the list is endless!!!

Very true, thanks to over marketing by espn - star
sports and now ten sports. People think that EPL is the best league, whereas, Spanish Primera Liga is the most toughest league in the world.

Serie A is defensive oriented, whereas Spanish has a mix of all type of teams, attack minded teams like Barcelona (who use short passes, dribbling), Real Madrid (who use long ball and pace like EPL), Aggressive team like Sevilla,Deportivo, Defensive teams like Valencia, Villareal.

Serie A does not have the same variety, its just a defensive oriented league. Also, check out the
difference between the top 10 teams in terms of points its not as much as in other leagues.

Also, Spanish players adjust easily to EPL,Serie
A clubs style of play. Whereas, check out what happened to Beckham, Owen etc. they just could not adjust their style of play.

Pathetic Display by Man Utd
by subrajit basu on May 03, 2007 11:30 AM

yesterdays match was a pathetic display by the man utd defence. Who can forget the second goal which Milan scored. They were playing like any Indian football club. Cmon why do u need to play ball passing inside your own D box. Just kick the ball and get it out of your danger area. I dont know what was going on in the minds of the Utd defence. I have never seen them play such poor football. Seems like they found playin in the rain a bit too tough. But even in England you have such rains anytime of the year. Hats of the Milan to reach the finals. Hope Man Utd can atleast win the premiership and the FA Cup title. They have played gr8 football this year and they deserve to win both the titles. Yesterdays match was just one bad match for Alex Fergussens side. I am sure they will kick Chelsea out of both the titles.

Champions%u2019 league is really a league of champions.
Yesterday match was really a football of its class, both the teams was deserving semi finalist but Milan has clear edge over man.united. They have showed their class, beautiful combination, one touch passes, esp.. guttoso , great possession over the ball. Sedorff was simply good and what we say abt Kaka, he is really lethal in D area. Milan is well deserved finalist and hope wins the trophy .

No chance. This year AC have a shot at only this title because, once again, match fixing has denied them a shot at any other titles this year. They will be doubly/trebly determined to win at least this title. The rout of ManU is enough evidence of their resolution.

Liverpool is a different team, they can rip apart a team one day and another day give a tired jaded performance. However, this Liverpool team is much stronger than Milan team (whom they defeated in Champions league), the Present Milan
team is woefully short of superstars, Kaka is their only shining star, plus they have Seedorf in form. However, their aged defence, consisting
of Maldini, Nesta, Kaladze etc. is super slow and even a swift frog can whiz past them. They are the reason why Milan are not doing well in Serie A itself.

Liverpool thus have one hand at the trophy only their back four, are a weak link. However, as far as coaches are concerned Benitez is a superb
planner unlike Ancelloti, who simply loses the plot in big matches.

So much for many of the Man United fans thinking that they had already finished off AC Milan and would have an easy time routing us Liverpool. That's what happens when you start counting chickens before they hatch. No worries, regardless of whether it was MAN U or AC Milan, we were always going to be underdogs. LIVERPOOL just likes it this way!
