Can someone clarify whether Anand's performance in this event will earn him any rating points? Stated differently, will his ranking go up/down after this tournament?
Since this tournament is not in the classic format, I believe no rating points can be earned/lost, but need someone to confirm.
see Kramnik score in blindfold.. he just gave 2 draws, and all other wins!!! Anand has to do a lot to catch up with him. even that may not be enough, as not many rounds left.
last time anand beat everyone black and blue.. 2-0. 2-0 he had 100% record in first few rounds, but lost a bit in the end.
There are 10 rounds already being finished and yesterday was a rest day. The results now are that V. Anand is sole second in overall and leads in rapid round by full 1.5 points.
So please give the updated news and not the age old news.

How many Indians can identify Anand by Photo compared to any cricketer. India at all level including Parliament(Announcing scores, wishing the team and appreciating victories),Leaders. Are any other sport in India get this level of focus?. Cricket actually looting money and nations natural resources from common men.
I don't find enough media coverage for ANAND even though he has achieved No.1 ranking in world. In my view Anand's achievement is biggest by any other Player of any other sport without any prejudice to any single player who can match him Like Dhyanchand of Hockey and someone else maybe.
