Our Cricketers and Anand - A study in contrast!!!
by Hot Air on Mar 26, 2007 03:04 PM  | Hide replies

Anand is the by-word for mental toughness. When the tournament is on the line, such as in the final few rounds of a round-robin, he steps up his game and becomes even more ruthless in his execution. Hallmark of a true champion.
On the other hand, our over-rated bozo cricketers run for cover when the pressure gets high on them. They crumble like a bad cookie.

At this point, I'm actually happy that our cricketers are not in the Indian armed forces. Can you imagine these cowards in uniform? The first bullet from an enemy gun, and these unfortunate zeroes will abandon their positions and race each other to surrender to the enemy.

time to think why he is based out of Spain while his parents live in Chennai (??)

talk about opportunities other games have in india. and who sponsors Anand, its NIIT. Why hasn't some Reliance or Britannia has come up, because we do not take pride in Anand and even a lost Indian match generates more revenues than Anand's match.

time for all of us to think a bit and get over the obsession with Cricket.

Its a pity that Anand or any other sportsperson other than cricket is not getting any media coverage.
its disgusting that cricket is getting too much media coverage. When Anand became World No 1 by winning in Linares, the major newspapers only reported this in a small corner of the sports page while there were over 5 to 6 pages of cricket rubbish .

Dear fans
Wish Anand for his success but dont overexpect from him. Let him play and enjoy his battle. Why i am saying is that when Anand loose a match in the future, then we will say that he should quit from chess and sould not appear in any ads, etc, that what happened to Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly(Heroes once upon a time)now

Anands aim is not to act in ads. But Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly they have acted in Ads than the number of runs they have Scored. For example Sachin scored 7 29 0 in World Cup 2007. But he promotes more than 50 products. Do compare Anand with our cricketers. Its a shame on you. Moreover Anand has won several title did our crickets get atleast Aliminium cup for India.

No. What i am saying is that dont overexpect from him. I think u r angry with our cricketers. I too. But dont forget that sachin is the highest run getters of 96 WC and 2003 WC Dravid in 99 WC and Sacchin, ganguly, dravid batted single handedly we were in the semi and final in 96 and 03. Finally what iam saying is WISH IF THEY SUCCEED DONT HARSH IF THEY LOOSE.

Did India win WC 96, 99 or 2003. What the point in scoring higest run. We need team performance not Individual performances

In 92 and 03,Aussies and SA were out in the first round itself. But they came back strongly. Allan Border is like sachin in 92 but he had scored only one fifty. In 2003 we are almost the winners. Sachin had played 5 WCs and he had given best in the last four. In 2003 final, what team can do if the target is 360?? If the target is 280 plus, then we are the winners.

If the target is 280 plus, then we are the winners. We didnot win this world cup league matches even if the score was less than 280 . SILLY PEOPLE.

India needs collective team effort, not the 40 centuries or 14000 runs we need, we need VICTORIES in home, away from home , in WORLD CUP. India lost the word UNITY after 1983 World Cup. Even Lalu prasad's team would have entered Super 8. Hope next time they keep Super16, useless creatures, GOOD FOR NOTHING.

Hello Mr.Velan.
I accept Sachin has scored more one day centuries, highest score in few world cups and highest run taker in one day cricket. But what had India got out it. He gained his fame and made money out of it. India or cricket fans got Halwa,Halwa.. everytime. In cruicial matches Sachin has failed 98 time out of 100. Its a recent analysis by a leading new paper. When you cant play under pressure no are not little master. Senior players please quit and give place for talented youngters like Karthik. Dont disappoint them.

a news on Chess leads to a discussion on Cricket. We are really an obsessed lot. Guys, don't u have anything else to talk abt. After all the losing and shameful exit from World cup, have some dignity and don't discuss it any more.

WELL DONE TEAM ANAND

I am proud to confess that at least in one sector do we have a winner. The Indian Cricket
Cowards should be stripped of their advertising funds. Chappel should be awarded a Chappal for his great work. I do not blame Dravid (The Wall) because he did contribute at least something to boast off. Sachin, Agarkar, and Uthappa, please make use of your closets to camp in. WELL DONE ANAND. MAKE INDIA PROUD.
