When it comes to dribbling the principle of ''Tantum Quantum'' could be tried !

Many say the art of sublime dribbling is what takes the game of football to a higher plane. Brazilian Kaka, Ronaldinho and Robinho have become enormous crowd pullers and icons for the thrill they bring to the game through their breath taking dribbles often culminating into memorable goals . Young Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Essien, Joe Cole, footballers from Japan and Korea and veterans like Ryan Giggs, Bart Goor and many others from Latin America, Africa and Asia resort to constructive dribbling in moderation to raise the beauty of the game when in action for their respective clubs and countries.

For us in India constructive and intelligent dribblers like the former India international Francis D'Souza, Prashanta Bannerjee, Shyam Thapa, Inacio Fernandes, Bir Bahadur Thapa, Henry Britto, Excelsio Carvalho, late Krishanu Dey and Martin D'Silva and a host of others in Mumbai, Kerala, Goa, Bengal and elsewhere played the opposite of the military type or the kick-and-run-type of football. Crowds would flock to enjoy the spectacular entertainment they would provide at the Cooperage, Ambedkar, Campal, Kanteerava and the maidans in Kolkata and Kerala.

Dribbling done in moderation to take the game in the playing zone of the opponent is indeed vital for the game. Each team needs to have a fair sprinkling of constructive and attack oriented dribblers to keep football alive as a game and who now and then can change the course of the game which at times can become heavy, monotonous and boring.

Football without driblling????Have they gone nuts? If players cannot stand other players dribbling then they should either learn or retire. This is stupidity. Einstein was correct. Two things are infinite.. One of them is man's stupidity and the other he was not sure of

Absolutely outrageous

This is pure nonsense, looks like they no longer want to play the buitiful game anymore. I just cannot imagine how dull it would be without skillful dribbling and ball control. I would like football to be football and not a track and field relay sprint.

Football will become a dull game if players dont dribble. We will miss Cristiano Ronaldo like players and their sublime skills.

Seems insanity is not confined to any geography. Have enjoyed watching football all my life & the high point has always been masterful dribbling, gifted players controlling ball as if by magic ! And now this. Crazy man crazy.
