Actually it is rather good that this happened. Canas was always a dangerous player (even in the past). Its just that Federer had not seen much of him before. Now that he has met him, there will be fresh fodder for thought. Surely Feds needed some new challenge here? Because the rest of the field is pretty much owned-to the point of paying obeisance to him. We need the Nadals and the Canases..funnily, Canas might lose to a Roddick or a Blake..but I looked at Canas's court coverage and also forehand angles..very-very Federer-like..thats interesting..

Hard luck FedEx
by angelo rodrigues on Mar 12, 2007 03:51 PM

Well no matter wat Fed is a gr8 player but at the same time one or two upsets were expected he can't always win....It takes a hell lot of determination and belief in urself to topple the best and hatsoff to Canas...
He mite not enter the top 10 rankings but will surely go down in History as the only one to beat Fed in his consecutive 41 victories.....Some kinda achievement

The way he used to demolish his opponents one thought that he is invincible. But Canas showed that even an 'lephant'can slip and fall. Well done Canas. Only when there is competition the game will shine, otherwise it becomes boring if the same player keeps winning.
