Deadly game
by S Ramanathan on Mar 11, 2007 10:59 AM

This was perhaps the game of the tournament. Apart from Aronian -Anand (which Anand lost), this was the only game that was pleasing. The only difference is that Anand won in a classical, pleasing fashion.

Coming from behind
by Dr. Vinay Gupta on Mar 05, 2007 03:10 PM

It has become trademark of Anand to come from behind in any tournament and ultimately emerge as winner. Is he doing this purposly to test his mantle at a later stage? If yes, hats off to him- blind fold, multiple players, against comp, and now with self-imposed stress ; he is emerging as true legend in all situations!!!

Vishy Anand has been one hell of a consistent sportsman for India...He's much bigger than Sachin co. but sadly he never got his due credit as the greatest Indian sports person of his era!!

how do you qualify him as much bigger than Sachin. Has he got 2800 points ELO. Is he the strongest ever chess player. How many times has beaten Kasparov. Why do you bring in needless comparisons. Let us enjoy both of them.

What yaar.Ab isme sachin kaha se aa gaya.Anand is also getting praise for his achievement. And after all even he fails when it comes to big matches.he has hardly won against kasparov.Critics say that sachin doesnt play well against quality oppositions on lively tracks. So even vishy anand is nevr been a world champion.so please dont make nonsense comparisons.

from the article
"Indian Grandmaster, Viswanathan Anand who defeated V. Bologan, S. Lputian, B. Macieja, defending champion A. Khalifman, M. Adams, to finally face-off against Lithuanian-born Alexey Shirov in the finals. "

neither kramnik, topalov, kasparov, karpov etc took part in the tournament. It was a weakened tournament
