Step out from there in London city between zones 1-4, it'll cost him close to the same. How much must it be costing him in a hotel where he stays? Maybe its cheaper in Russia, hence he's comparing. He can buy some from ASDA and cook by himself instead ;-)

what's wrong in that? He earned it hard way. Shows how much you care for money. And he did not say it to you, he said to a russian paper. So, the statement was meant to be taken from Russian perspective.

Or maybe Safin can hire Hemank Trivedi as a servant pay INR 2000 and maybe he can also press his legs at night besides cooking and sweeping the floors. Still cheaper.

He's saying that you cant even buy a meal with with the daily allowance. That is an extremely valid complaint. He's bold to let out such information.
I can understand if an ordinary fan complain about the price of food etc. but not someone whos a millionaire player. These guys get paid just for playing there whereas fans have to pay to watch them and pay for everything there.

Being a millionaire does not mean he cannot complain about the outrageous food prices. He has a valid point. The guy didnt win a lotto, he has earned it the hard way and has a right to complain.

There is nothing funny about the original posting and it's poor reasoning to say that just because he earned a lot of money, he should be ready to throw it away. There are other young and upcoming tennis players. They'll not be able to afford food at those rates. It's right for somebody of the stature of Safin to rant it out so that authorities do something about it for the good of everyone. If anything, Safin is being a responsible member of the tennis fraternity
Separate topic with nothing to do about the article or postings above, we folks from the sub-continent do not have a great sense of humor. We make fun of people's misfortunes or racial features but we can not tolerate other people laughing at our cost for legitimate reasons.
