look at the kind of opponent federer is facing and look at the player sampras played. Here only name heard often is Rafael Nadal. For Pete there were Jim Courior, Stefan Edbarg, Boris Beckar, Andre Agassi, Ivan Lendal, Goran Ivanisavich and many other. No doubt to it that Pete Sampras is the greatest player of all time

Federer simply is in a league of his own. He has plenty of competition. Fact is that he is just too god. He is the most complete player we have seen. Pistol Pete was great, but not as complete a player as Federer. Borg was also good and showed us how to play the two handed banck hand very well, but never as good as Sampras or Federer. Borg would never really approach the net, but only play it safely from the back line.
We are still to see a class player like Bjorn Borg till now !! Federer cannot be rated high as the opponnents now have no qiality ! Whereas in case of Borg he faced players like Mcnroe, Jimmy Connors and other greats and time and again he thrashed them.
