All the modernisation is fine, but one thing that is going to affect Wimbledon adversely is the grass that has been layed for play. Over the last 5 years, Wimbledon has used a more "durable" sort of grass to ensure that the grass lasts the full fortnight. This has casued some problem. The court has become slower and bouncier, making it easier for clay court exponents to improve performances. Hence the traditional serve and volley play usique among grand slams is now quite redundant since the speed of the game is much slower. Hence Rafael Nadal - good player in his own right - has a better chnace in grass now than maybe on a surface from a decade ago.
read the comments"we believe it's right for people to wear mostly white; we believe there shouldn't be too much advertising around the place." compare this to what happens in other sports, noticably cricket-- 1. Players and walking bill boards. 2. Colour of plyaers uniform matches corporate colours -- Men in Blue anyone?? 3. Too much advertisement -- i think the BCCI feels there is too little advertisment anyway.

Indians basically do not have killer instinct which is most essintial for winning any game whether individual or team.I remember one wimbeldon quarter final between Vijay Amritraj and Jimmy Conners which the American won after being 2 sets down. Not only that I also remember the way he was shouting at himself, clinching fists and constantly talking to himself while the Indian was looking at heavens and kissing the cross round his neck and asking for Lord's blessings. Without being critical what I mean is thats the way we are made up.

Yes..he is God...he will hit the ball...and send a knife and fevicol with it...the knife will cut the ball into 2...and once it is past the confused player..the fevicol will stick the 2 parts and ...lo behold...Rajnikant has scored a point....lol.....
It is indeed a brilliant idea to add a retractable roof over the Centre court playing area which will ensure continuance of play even during rains and eliminate frustration of players as well as spectators due to postponement of matches. However, with a pinch of salt one has to accept the feeling of loss of traditinal look of the world's most famous Tennis playing lawn.
