The 'Iron Man of India' and the game of football.
by cajetan coelho on Jun 25, 2007 05:40 PM

Knowledgeable people say the 'Iron Man of India' is capable of causing an impact on the game of football. In the long run some of our upcoming youngsters from football loving states like Bengal, Punjab, Kerala, Sikkhim, Manipur, Maharashtra, Goa and other states could explore possibilities of playing for the feeder clubs, the reserves and even the main team of the 'Iron Man of India'.

Overseas exposure is what our boys need if they are to do well against opponents at the international levels.

In recent years players from Japan, Korea, Australia and the Middle East have improved a lot by playing in some of the well known leagues in the West.

A Great humble guy
by Haroon Ghalib on Jun 22, 2007 09:25 PM

I am from Pakistan, and Mittalis a gem for India,he may be NRI not living in India but still his name and struggle is a sign of true spirit of the people of our region!
We can say many things but put ur self in his shoes,if any of us had done so what he has done,be assure we wud have acted more arrogantly than the humility he shows! he is a self made man and India should be well proud of him!

Good work,Mittal

Its nice to hear that Mittal is buying Birmingham City. He must be having his own reasons, though its not such a great team.
Though his link to India is only by birth, its nice to read about his bussiness acquisitions.
I wished our Govt could encourage more NRIs like him to invest their money in India.

Why waste money on Birmingham FC ?
by YamChuk on Jun 14, 2007 09:44 AM

Birmingham FC is a pathetic 2 tier club in EPL , Why in the world would you like to waste money on that ?
Kindly bring some of the techincally expertise from England to India to improve the condition of Indian football .
May be , We people in India can appreciate that ,rather than throwing it your freaked daughter's marriage which was given overexposure of our Rubbish media .

ya he might be but nevertheless indian are proud of him. I dont think all other business man are not doing it enron controversy is only popular thing in india, but there are hundreds of corporate scandals all over the world. GM/hyundai/mncs all do corruption in india. When I was in finland a sweish newspaper had published an article where they had justified paying bribe in india. And informed people have the article still with them. At least mittal has given job to 360000 ppl non indians directly and
I think similar number of trickle down jobs. So around 750000 ppl are getting benefitted directly/indirectly from him in addition to millions of shareholders. So I dont feel bad about him.
