Overweight Sania was tired and ChakdePhatze kicked her around the court. Mirza is a top class heavyweight (lbs only)that can't compete with lithe fast movers like V Williams, Ivanovic, and Henin. People younger than her, and less hyped than her have won GSlams.
And stop giving the same old argument that at least a Indian woman has made it this far. What BS - she had all the facilities. Are our expectations always so low? It's a level playing field and most are just way better than her.
Can you imagine a Serbian or Jap saying 'at least Winovic or Takeshi came to the II rd - no other Serb, Jap is world 78' . No, they'll be talked about only if at the top.
That too, they are not hyped for losing like Mirza. Other wannabe nations look for the top ranking, nothing less.
Sania had a wonderful run at the US hardcourt tournaments. She proved that she has the game to beat other higher seeded players and that makes her a dangerous player to face in any tournaments. It was just a matter of time before she is rank in the top 20 and top 10.She is slimmer and fitter and her hard work is paying off.Its great to see an Indian playing so well irrespective of the ranking.Sania can only improve in the comming months and we pray that she does well in the US OPEN.
Eventhough she lost if the final, she had a great week beating some top players and finishing runner up. Anyway, she lost to world 6th no. player. The victories will definetely boost her confidence and help her in taking higher ranked players.
Good progress indeed !!!
And to those who r always complaining about her, tell me abt any player from India who had performed so well international sports and so consistent ..... U may name very few people, but not many ... So sania's achievement is great and wish her a good year ahead.
Geez... She is really a champ in her own right Great luck to her n to add more this itself is a phenomenal achivement........... We run behind sachins and harbajans Leander ,Mahesh,Vishwanathan Anand and Sania are our true heroes
Hearty compliments to you on your commendable progress. Not only your hometown Hyderabad, but whole of India is really proud of you and your sporting achievements.
