Talent and Hope wins together
by Aveek Gangopadhyay on Jul 30, 2007 03:14 AM

Sania wasnt at her best in recent past for long. But she regained her best WTA rankin 31. Obviously fluke and coincidence dont occur everytime. Lots of ppl had written her off during her off form.
But i always believe her talent though wasn't confident on her too much cos she is not having any proper physio or trainer and also her fitness routine is not of the same international standard as other tennis players. I challenged everone to prove me wrong...she lost 80% of her lossing match during the time ether she return from inujured or took from dur to injury.
Her obvious mail problem is her fitness and not her talent.I just hope she dont injured her again in recent time. I hope she is following soem good fitness regime currently
best of luk Sania...

Sania miracle
by Sameer Joshi on Jul 29, 2007 11:22 PM

Sania, is a miracle, without doubt the best naturally groomed player in the world.
Tennis unlike cricket is played universally and to make any mark by any player of any country is a big deal in tennis.
In the conventional sport world, we are nowhere, specially when comes to atheletic sport, thanks to our infrastructure, political will and most importantly the parents who always neglect their children playing sport no inspiration at all from anywhere and on top of that our eating habbits, we eat the most unhygenic food there is a revoluntionary change required for changing our eating habits.(Sabzi Daal and Bhaat all the time), how could we produce a physically strong people.
I would like to congratulate Sania's father Imran, his family and community for supporting their daughter for playing sport.
It is a shame that a population of ours 1 billion plus don't have any presence in conventional sport circuit.
Sania miracle has proved we can do it as farmer president Kalam said yes we can do it.
May Sania inspire young kids their parents, and generate a political will to produce many more Sania in future..............

Sania - we are with you!
by Wilma Pereira on Jul 29, 2007 09:39 PM

Reaching semifinals at Cincinatti, reaching finals here in singles as well as doubles - this must be a glorious fortnight for Indian tennis. Also, Indian cricketers are doing well. Sun is shining in England, perhaps proves that God is Indian. So going by all of this, I can only hope for a great news in 24 hours. Even if isnt, I am not unduly bothered. This will be hopefully the beginning of a great hard court season for the hard court forehand specialist. Onward march Sania, next target: INTO THE TOP 20s. We all love you for leading our country's bleak sporting fortunes.

Doesn't matter with round, She is an inspiration !
by Shekhar Gupta on Jul 29, 2007 08:58 PM

Where have all the so called critics of Sania gone ! When she was losing in the first of second rounds most were putting blame on her instead of seeing the bright side that atleast she is consistent enough to be playing in professional tournaments.

Based on the 'excellent' support from our sports authority and 'great' infrastructure she could have been old news within an year. But not only has she stayed around but kept on improving.
It doesn't matter which round she reaches, as long she is around she is an inspiration for all women sports in India !

Sania Mania

How come all her brothers have come out of the woodwork to wish and congratulate her?????Others have been consistent in either praising her or criticizing her game but not her religion, attire or her off court behavior.

So brothers please fes up, appreciate sister's game regardless of her hi's or lo's because some fame will make us all feel good. I am sure she is making you feel proud (especially in these times), don't you agree?

Others have been consistent: Go SANIA, go!

hey u forget the day when she was a super flop. u can prove wrong to critics only when she continue her winning streaks. most indian sportsmen are chcokers except in chess, shooters, snookers etc. thats because these people never get publicity.

Mr Waghmare, you wont get a nobel prize for predicting that. its not actually important whether she wins or loses, she represents the generally neglected Muslim women of culturally archaic (developing?!) Asian countries and is making waves through whatever she manages to achieve. Dont be a 'wet blanket', encourage her to achieve more. beating 2nd seed, 4th seed and 6th seed in the space of 4 days is not a small achievement for a young lass who is surely a pride of all Indians. I wonder whether you are one.

Dont be pessimistic. Sania has the potential. She once defeated Martina Hingis in Thailand just one week after she had been beaten by Hingis.
