I apologize to everyone as this message is not related to this article, but felt the need to send this suggestion to Rediff. ---------- If any message on the discussion board is reported as abusive, someone at rediff validates if it was the right claim and removes or disables 'report abuse' option.
Continuing this filtration process further, Rediff should keep a track of user IDs which get reported as abusive, and after 3-4 such instances treat those IDs as spam and should not give them a chance to scribble senseless messages.
When India did not have any presence in Women's grandslam tennis in the past, we could only dream of an Indian participant in major tennis tournaments. Now that we have a budding talent who is trying her best, we sit complain abt how bad she is. If she were that bad, why wud she be ranked # 38 in the world? (next best ranking for an Indian woman is 300 )
Our mentality in general is either indifference to what is going on in the world or build up too many hopes on people who try. It is not like Cricket where u can comment saying, player X should replace player Y, as Y doesn't deserve a place in the Indian squad. The fact is, she is the best female player India currently has and there is no one to replace her yet. She might not be good enuf to win any grandslam, but she sure is an inspiration for the next generation of players, an youth icon and matter of pride for India. The best we can do is to appreciate and encourage her. Passing comments is easy, to represent a nation is not.
She is lucky that god has given her the looks, even if she were not as good looking as she is, we would still take pride in an Indian playing in grandslams.
Guys passing abusive/indecent comments, please act sensibly, would u pass the same comments if ur real identity were attached to ur rediff ID?

Well set KT. We (Indians) are generally very emotional and good in commenting everyting on the earth without realizing that many of us not even have any credentials to comment on a particular thing. Question to those who are all throwing rubbish words on Sania, do any of one of you ever hold a Tennis rocket in your entire life? do you ever play any tennis game in your life? do you ever represent our country in the international level in this Tennis? I am pretty sure that 99% of guys could never say 'YES' to the above questions. Hello guys, if you cant appreciate what our fellow Indian (Sania) is doing and trying to do in Tennis in the international level, please keep quit and keep your views within yoruself; please dont try to show your arrogance in throwing all kinds of bullshits on how our indian player is performing. We should learn to appreciate our player and learn to support our players. Just think about Americans, they always support their players in every game irrespective of how good/poor he/she is. It's shame to see that many of the comments are pointing to her physical appearance instead of her tennis playing talent. Come on guys, try to extend your support to our fellow Indian to play well in the game.

This region must bee proud that she plays for india and top 40 isnt a joke! may be she never wins a grandslam but for many in india can can become a catalyst or a mentor or a rising sun,so that many will seek the path to get better and to acheieve what she wasnt!shes a torch bearer for india in tennis!nobody did it!and she has done!

Sania's result has been dissapointing in the past but then i still support her knowing what she is capable of.Its a matter of pride too as she is the only one representing India in the world of WTA tennis.I rather encourage her then bashing her and she deserve much more from her countrymen then all those hate mails and cheap sinde remarks.Go Sania and all the best for the semi finals.
since sania mirza is a great indian sports woman my humble request to you sir to ask readers not to write about her in a wounding and sexy manner. afterall she is a woman. sexy messages should be banned and rediff membership should be taken off from that person.
