That's because Sania thinks she won the finals in the first round. Its kind of a lazy attitude, a mental block which she refuses to correct. It also has to do with her mediocre fitness level. The same was the case with Vijay Amritraj several years back. Not taking winning matches too seriously.
Sport person are not intel chips that they need to increase perform every year. The fact that Sania has made a name for her desipte all odds of poor tennis infrastucture and almost zero women competition, is in itself is a huge feat. Now that she has played in almost all major tournaments where no Indian women has gone before, expectations have grown bigger and so the disappoitment that she doesn't cross 2nd round which everyone was cheering about sometime back. Same with Tendulkar, he has set his standards so high that even if he plays better than rest of the team but does not peform upto his level, people are disappointed. Grow up ! How dare you criticize her when she is the only one out there and despite so many issues has stayed in top 50 for some years now. She needs to do better for sure but that doesn't take away the fact that she has achieved what was expected of her, to be the first Indian women in tennis to be part of all major tournaments. Maybe her or someone else after her will perform better as now the bar has been raised.

Why, don't you want Sania to win atleast one tounament? Your attitude is a complacent one which is good only for losers and not winners. I would be happy if Sania could win some tournaments and not just keep losing in the first or second round all the time. If Bartoli can reach the Wimbledon finals, Sania can do far better. Two years back Sania used to thrash Bartoli in straight sets.
Sick sick sick......this Sania Mania. The main culprits being the Indian media (Which apes the west just like Sania Mirza apeing the west with her fake accent)
Wen are you people going to accept that she is a no show. Gals from Serbia where there are no facilities at all are making the finals in the slams and then we have Sania Mirza with al the facilities this country can offer bringing home 2nd round losses. Why are you guys celebrating meidocrity over ad over and over again? It is 3 years now and there has been no improvementin her game.
Dont talk bull shit about she being the first indian women to blah blah blah....she is just another average player. We indians are the best at celebrating mediocrity.
I think Sania needs help in the ways of providing good place to practice (I can think the facilities available in HYDERABAD), and there is no much competetion at domestic level in India or in any other Asian Countries. So Sania is the best person playing Tennis here. But she often fails when travels abraod. The main reason being stamina. I request these politicians to support her by the way of giving her good place to Practice & improve the game not the individual. But our politicians will give her the plot in hyd, which she does not require.
So, we need to look at improving the game & all the other requirements that game wants not an individual wants.
Ofcourse, I want Sania to win always & show her skin as much as possible as it looks really attrative.
