Go Prakash go.....you have made yourself proud by reaching the quarter final of a tire 1 ATP tournament unlike that fat overrated bimbo called Sania Mirza. She has'nt reached a quarter final even ina tire 4 tournament the last 2 years. But the sad truth is the great sports illitrate people of india will ask Prakash...who? Vijay Amritraj...who? But every idiot knows about that fat, arrogant, fake attitude profusing, mediocore, average and hyped up bimbo caled Sania Mirza.

This clearly shows that this country sucks in terms of Sports education. All these idiots know is that Sanai must be good coz she is on TV al the time. How sad can it get. Please stay in the US for the rest of your life and dont waste your time in this great sports ignorant country. The media and people here will kill your game and mind if you base yourself here.

Are you crazy?!! Sania is ranked 38th in the world not because of her advertisements or her 'bimboness' but because she has actually beaten good players!!Prakash on the other hand is ranked 467 and doesnt look like he will ever make top 100!! I cant understand you Sania Bashers, I agree she is overhyped by our media but her achievement is something a country like India( that has hardly anything to show for in tennis because of the abysmal coaching facilities) should be proud of!

Kartik,
I dont understand why you guys are so enamoured about the ranking, be it cricket or tennis. LG ranking, samsung ranking etc etc. But in the end they lose in the first round in the world cup. Same with Sania Mirza...38, 44,55 etc etc but at the tournaments it is a no show. You are saying that Sanai is 38 and so good. My dear Sir even Venus was 23rd before wimbledon. Dose that mean that the difference between Venus Williams and Sania is just a hair's breath? Far from it. The ranking dose not mean anything anoymore. It is finishing at the top that counts. Prakash may be 467 but he has reached the quarter final of a tire 1 ATP tournament. But this lady flunks even in tire 4 tournaments played in morroco, and timbuktoo. Besides the mens tour is so difficult to crack.Prakash may not crack the top 100 but he has something to show this year by reaching the quarter final at Newport. I am waiting what you can show of your beloved Sanai Mirza by the end of the year. And dont tel me abut the coaching facilities in India. She has been playing since her childhood and if she cant make it in these times...how do you think guys like Vijay and Leander made it in the 70's and 80's while they were starting out?

Sania Mirza has already won a WTA title! In recent tournaments she hasnt been doing well but she has been to the 4th round of the US open. I'm not saying she is great, infact she is nowhere in the class of Venus, Maria, Henin and the others! And she definitely does not have the accomplishments of Leander or Amritraj. But all the same she is the best female tennis player we have ever had. And if you think facilities in India are good , then you are out of your mind. Yes Leander has done well and so has Bhupathi but they are 1-2 in a million. And if you look at leander's singles record , its not that good , he crashed out mostly in the first and second round. I AM NOT SAYING SANIA IS GOD, I am JUST SAYING SHE IS NOT CRAP! A tennis tournament starts with 128 players so theoretically a player ranked 38 will only make it to the 2nd or 3 round anyways!!If she does better than that we should be happy, if she doesn't we shouldn't start abusing her!!!

She won a tourmamemnt in Hyderabad (Tire 4 and 2 years back) mostly crowded with chinese and soviet block fringe players. No top players. Then she played a couple of tournaments in Bangalore and Kolkatta where she was beaten soundly by top players. I agree that she is the best Indian womens player but she is still crap at the world level.Even now if you take her first half of the year the last 2 years she carefully choses to play in tourmanemnts where the top players presence is less. Once Wimbledon is over she wil face the real test as the hardcourt seson is played entirely in the US. She cant fake her 1 round 2 round victories anymore. It is going to be very difficult for her and if she is of an substance ten it is going to show in the next 2 months. Lets catch up until then Karthik.

You have to understand that the reason for my frustation is not against this player but against people of this country who are so ignorant about tennis and are madly following the money that Sania Mirza makes. It is not for the right reasons that Mirza is appreciated. It is all for the wrong reasons. Lets support Tennis for al the right reasons. I hope people blogged as enthusiastically for Prakash to have made the quarter final. But sadly we are the only 2 here talking about tennis. If this same news was a first round Sania defeat you must seehow many come to write their ignorant, half baked tenis knowledge in support of this lady.

I absolutely agree with you.Look at the progress she's made.NOTHING.Ana ivanoic and Sania almost started off at the same time.We all know where Ana is today in terms of rankings or for that matter performance.Ana doesn't come from a rich country rather she comes frm Serbia as we all know.So what else other than Attitude and dedication can be questioned in case of Sania. She just gives xcuses and nothing more.Let's all stop discussing or publishing news on her and that might bring her back to ground Zero and understand reality. She's no big achiever but just a FLASH IN THE PAN...

Prakash Amritraj should try to emulate his father Vijay. Vijay played for India for many years with distinction. Once upon a time he was the A factor of the famous ABC. Amritraj, Borg & Connors.

When will an indian win a grand slam singles title. pray for some magic to happen. Just as india needs a genuinely fast bowler for the last 5 decades. These both are an unfulfilled wish of many indians
