Williams played well. Her game plan, ability to counter attack and will power are special. Venus and Bartoli played top class tennis throughout the tournament.
Its people like Venus who show that despite injuries they still give their 100% to the game. Many people criticize these sisters for their looks but they always prove that its not the looks which will make them win but their hard work. I really wish that our country produce one such female tennis player who can really focus on game rather than commercials and public hype.

To produce great players either female/male in any discipline requires great system.Also our country does not have great sporting culture. In America people don't bother about you unless you are a winner/either no.1 or 2.Thats the kind of pressure every sports person has in US.
When Greg Chappell tried to force things he became villain and our players and administrators were not willing to accept this.
In short it takes collective effort,courage,discipline from players as well as those involved with the sports to produce great champions.

Yes I agree Vijay what you are saying, when she lost no one said any, but when she wins on her won is staright, the fool people like "a", starting s h i t ting, which is incorrect. Congrats VENUS ...!
Congratulations to Venus for claiming yet another Wimbledon singles title.Since 2000 Williams sisters have shared in between them this premier tennis tittle for the sixth time.Still full marks to the giant killer Marion Bartoli for loosing to a great grass court player in the finals.

I don't what was administered to williams during her injury break but she came back serving 125 mph.It was so fast for Bartoli that it started hurting her hands to return those massive serves.
It was nice to see an young woman like Marion to play in wimbldedon final against 3 times champion Venus, and truely she said after the match that she was up against the best woman player on grass at present, so no disgrace in her defeat.Hope she will comeback over and over again. She has her limitations of reaching with double handed forehands and backhands and does not seem to be as fast as compatriot players, surely doesnot have aces in her serves.Hailinng from an unknown village of south france she did a commendable job, hope her father is wise enough to take her to a pro coach now instead of keeing her under his guidance.All the best to the chubby innocent looking girl....

i happened to see the match too. bartoli has a good game, however, there is one area she has to improve on drastically .. thats her speed. she is way too slow. Guess she has to lose soem weight.
it was quite expected from williams to win.....but honestly feelin very bad for bartoli....she was sobbing n so was her father...in the 10th game of set 1 there was lot of pressure on the young girl....n she failed to overcome nerves.....but much was expected from her in set 2...n the crowd was very well on her side ..as they wanted a thrilling final....at 1-4 down in set 2...she fended of 2 break points n it seemed as if she was fightin back...but nerves again! she lost the game....1 thing incredible abt her is that though being fat she has so much power...her winners though few were a delight to watch....n credit to venus as she got injured durin set 2 but still won...thats very typical of the williams sisters,of course!!!congrats venus!!

My dear fellow, Henin lost to Bartoli in the semifinal and now bartoli lost to venus in the final. You go and check your information, before trying to correct others!!
