Henin was ok in the 1st set nothing extraordinary and the same for the 2nd and 3rd sets.She looked very distracted and tired.Her body language betrayed her and it was clear that she is not the same world no 1 who has answers for anyone and everything.The quater finals against Serena took its toll,she gave more then what she is capable off in that match without realising and that drained her physically and emotionally.Bartoli is an intresting player but no one expected such great results from her.Sania beat her in the 3rd round at the US open 2005 and she was just a normal young girl then pretty face with ok tennis.She changed completely at the French open and Wimbledon physically and mentally.She looked heavy and almost fat but that was due to intense physical training and that extra pounds was simply converted to muscles and energy.She looked weak and out of breath at times but that is very deceiving.The longer she plays the better she gets and that was evident against Jankovic,Micheala K and Justine Henin as she lost the 1st set against the three players.Its great she made the finals but its going to be a couple of months before she can win any Grand slam.Venus will have to cut down the unforce errors as Bartoli is very consistent and hardly make any unforce errors.Bartoli is the new princess in the WTA tour but i will put my money on Venus Williams.

pathetic commets.....do u think others are playing for joke ? Bartoli played much better than henin so she won..if she can maintain the same level shes surely gonna win the tournament..
It is good for the game if there are more such upsets. But I cant help saying that my interest in the final has started to fizzle out already. It's unlikely Bartoli would win again and most likely it will be a clinical win for Williams. In short, a boring final.

Rohan is right. What playing a grandslam final requires is a good temperament. Some of these younger players who are there for the first time are going to feel the nerves. For example the french open final between Ana Ivanavic was so boring. She told later on that she got nervous and she could hardly keep any of her ground strokes and serve in. Let us see. Most likely it is going to be boring final.

boring you say?? appreciate what Bartoli has achieved. Venus is cruising with full of confidence, but dont count Bartoli out...
Yesterday night, I was watching this Henin-Bartoli match and after the first set, I thought, it is going to be a cakewalk for Henin and switched off the TV, but now, after seeing this result, it is an unbelievable result.
Bartoli was made to huff and puff in the first set. Great accolades to Bartoli to have reached the final.
