What Nadal says is absolutely correct. Five thousand points in the APT tour was enuf to guarantee first position in 90s and early 2000s until fed started winning 2-3 slams 4-5 atp masters a year. Instead of FEd and Nadal winning all four slams we can see one or two new comers for sure in 2008. This will reduce the dominance of top 2 and hopefully topple them. No player has held on to his top spots more than fed and Nadal. If Nadal opens 2008 with a title here and carries the momentum to Australian open he can go beyond quarter.
Nadal is no doubt a great tennis player. One gets the feeling however, that if he cannot become no.1 in 2008, he may permanently miss the bus, as a number of newcomers are coming up to challenge him, and in modern tennis world, 23 has to be considered old.

rather than novak i would say should be ferrer, andy(murray)and nalba..novak cudnt keep up by the season end...aniwez whoever it is wish him a good 2008...hope he dethrones federer soon;nalba's already on the way(i know fedex fans will abuse me for this..but c'mon u do get bored watchin the same person win all the time,it should be exciting for everybody if someone springs up a surprise)atp never fluctuates unlike wta..u dont get to see same one winning there.
