Anand has improved!
by Krishi Varma on Dec 21, 2007 12:49 PM

The last time these two faced each other, Anand was different. I can certainly say that Anand has improved and gained some experience. NOW, it will be interesting to see how he matches up with Kasparov. Now i think we can say that they both have seen it all, almost. Now, it will really be a clash of galactic proportions, more so than those 90's. If there ever'll be such a match-up, we'll know for sure whether Anand has really become the best(if he wins after Kasp managing to play his natural game) or he still has a way to go(if he loses).
None of us can judge at this point in time as to whether who'll beat whom for sure just because Anand has done a lot of things after his loss to Kasp at the WTC. Only a match-up, that too a 10-15 gamer will hold the right answer.
Everything else will just be a desperate attempt and a waste of some fingerwork.

He is an excellent person and a genius,India is proud of him.I urge readers to refrain from something nasty about him just for the sake of it.It is disgusting.

He is not arrogant; he just wants to flush out the rats hiding in holes after nipping at toes...

WILL KASPAROV RESPOND ?!?!
by baranikumar mahadevan on Dec 19, 2007 04:23 PM  | Hide replies

People have expressed different views here.
Some have said he should not challenge Kasparov as he is bound to lose.

Some have said his challenge shows he is not afraid of anyone.

Some have said Kasparov was better and can still beat Anand.

Maybe ... maybe not. Here we can only offer an opinion.

However one thing needs to be debated - whether Anand is right or wrong , or brave or foolish , the other side has not responded.

HAS KASPAROV TAKEN UP THE CHALLENGE?
If he doesn't then what does that mean?

If he does then I can say one thing - we all will look forward to a high quality tussle irrespective of the winner.

anand has not challenged kasparov.. he has just express his desire to see kasparov on chess again.. and then he added that he will get chance to play more games with him.. people r taking this news as an open challenge... thats not correct

You are right. Anand , technically has expressed a desire.

Nevertheless as this is a public statement it would be interesting to see the response of Kasparov, don't you think so?

By inviting Kasparov, Anand has proved that he is the real world champion, and he is not afraid to meet anyone alive in this world.. Proud that it is a gesture shown by an Indian...

Anand is being unwise in asking Kasparov for a comeback match. Infact he cannot defeat even Gata Kamsky if a match-up is arranged now. Now don't misunderstand me because I am a great admirer of Vishy. But I feel he should enjoy his World Champion title as long as it lasts and forget about others.

Being brave is not a weakness but a quality. So he loses worst case? So what?

But Vishy surely knows something you dont if he is taking the risk of a challenge
