Bhupathi Vizner's doubles victory not mentioned in Headlines
by Raghavan on Aug 13, 2007 11:12 AM  | Hide replies

It's shocking to see that When Indians win titles in games other than Cricket, no importance is given.Even if Sania loses it is highlighted. How long will this bias go on ?

What about Vishwanathan Anand? Top player in the world for such a long time. And who is bothered?

If Sania has a pimple on her cheek, it is news!!!

Federer loses
by Rajesh Vyas on Aug 13, 2007 11:05 AM  | Hide replies

sir:

I think this is the best news for Men's tennis.

It was getting a bit too predictable, monotonous and boring with either Federer or nadal winning almost every title in every tournament with Andy Roddich chipping in once in a blue moon.

This so called upset will definitely restore public interest in Men's tennis.

The other contenders should kkep it up!!!!

I think Djokovic was too much excited after winning the trophy over Federer. After winning, He should not say like "I'd like to say to Roger that he can't win everything, sometimes somebody else has to win". He should be humble and down to earth but his words seem to be that this victory gone over to his head. But, Federer was so generous in appreciating Djokovic for his performance. Other players need to learn this generosity from Federer. Federer might have lost the Final but not every day Federer will play like this. Djokovic will taste his own words in this weeks's Semi-Final clash with Federer in Cincinatti as well as in the upcoming US-Open; I am damn sure that Federer will thrash him in this week and too in US-Open. Ofcourse Djokovic is a good upcoming player; had only he not injured in Wimbledon Semifinal against Nadal, He might have been in Final. Anyhow, Wishes to Djokovic but dont expect OFF DAYS from Federer on every day in the future. Federer will bounce back with great performance.

We had 18 wussies in the top 20 and only Nadal believed at least mentally that he could beat Federer...and now we have another formidable opponent Djokovic...Federer was playing his best...he makes those errors in all his matches...because he always plays risky tennis...it comes off against most opponents...but not against solid players like Nadal and Djokovic... I think Djokovic will beat Federer again in Cincy...but US Open is still a question mark because I dont think Djokovic is physically fit enough to win a two-week, best of 5 tourny yet...but he could prove me wrong this year...Go Djokovic...Go Nadal!! You make tennis more interesting to watch!!

He said that in a lighter vein buddy. By saying that he implied that Federer has been winning everything and that he can have one of those days when he will end up on the losing side.

Djokovic would have beaten Frederer at Wimbledon semi-final ,if it weren't for the injury and fatigue (I think it was 3 games in 2 days) .
So it should be sweet revenge .

It was gasquet who played federer in wimbledon semifinal not djokovic. djokovic played nadal in semi. he had trouble moving because of a thigh strain but still managed to get the first set off nadal 6-2 and even broke his serve in the second and then he went downhill and retired in the third trailing 1-4. please get your facts right

I saw Djokovic at Wimbeldon & he was simply superb. If only he had not carried an injury, he would have beaten Nadal and then could have gone on to win the title!!!!!!

He is super and I am not surprised at his win.
