Why Fault Selectors or IHF
by Duryodhan on Apr 27, 2007 07:28 PM

Why people do not understand language that Tirkey and Gagan did not attend trials so appropriately they were not selected. Indian fans should stop worshipping players. I think no matter what people say about Gill and Jyoti, They still have done bette than bunch before. Now more and better domestic hockey available for players to show their talent and also players are making better living than ever before. It is young and inexperienced team, agreed but then we are going to give youngsters a chance. This is perfect opportunity with all big guns in tournament. If any body has seen they will agree that this team is physically fit , young and talented. With coach Carvallho whom players hold in high esteem will bring a team togeather for it to qualify for Olympics. Mind it with all those players missing India lost to China and missed easy opportunity to qualify. Now with all other player they did not qualify so what is the harm in giving youngsters a chance.
MInd it that Gurbux, Ajitpal, Harmik, And Sommaya are all great players and they are not afraid to select best players.

Save the National Game of our Country

As long as the present team of Mr.Gill, Mr.Jyothikumaran is at the helm of affairs Indian Hockey will never improve. Indian Government should take immediate steps to remove them & place hockey federation under the control of some reputed ex-players officials who are really interested in the sport.

The selection of this team is only showing their intention to bury the game of Hockey in the country.

with olympics nearing around the corner, the IHF should not mess with the team's composition.its good to encourage young talents, but it is very risky to preclude the old guards and make the team vulnerable to possible defeating threats.hope for the best of indian hockey.

weakest team
by vipul saxena on Apr 21, 2007 11:27 PM

IHF and mindless selectors have again shown their true colours. This is the weakest and most inexperienced indian hockey team I have ever seen in my life. Now this is danger time and we have to qualify for Olympics. They should have selected best available talented players, not just inexperienced rookies.
God Save Indian Hockey

High time
by D on Apr 21, 2007 10:55 PM  | Hide replies

high time money is invested in hockey rather than cricket and the obsession with cricket is reduced and other games are given importance and we groom players for games like hockey where ur physical attributes are very important.... talent is ofcourse necessary but ur physical capabilities hold much more importance.... we surely have talented cricketers but hardly few come up with a 9/10 when it comes to physical stature

Why Arjun Halappa, Tushar Khandekar and one more forward(from Punjab), are missing in the team. This is definitely a weak team if , Gagan and Tirkey are not there...
