Jeev had great roung of golf in first two rounds
by Prithvi Paul on Apr 07, 2007 07:39 PM  | Hide replies

I am an avid watcher of Golf , and i am telling you yesterday Jeev was tied for 15th and he is just 5 shot from lead, even Tiger and Phil both struggled in fact all of them struggled , so Jeev did a great job , in fact there are two Singhs , VJ the greatest and Jeev the younger one. In fact if Jeev shoots a good roung today even 2 3 under he will have good chance to be in top 10 which will be great , Indians should look at golf as option but i think golf has to be more accessible , which currently isnt .
Great job by Jeev , if he finishes in top 10 at masters , India's WC cricket misery will be lost and new Man would be in center

Thanks Prithvi Palfor giving the true picture. Rediff is giving only half of the truth hiding the fact that they are tying for the 15th position. I would never have guessed if not for your comment.
I am little disappointed. Yet want to congratulate Jeev for doing his best.

Now coming to Golf resplcing cricket. However mad our aam Junta is, however high sucess other sports may reach in India, Cricket will remain the most sought after game in India. First easy accessibility - Golf will never ever be accessible to all. In fact Golf community want to keep it elite sport. So forget Golf replacing cricket in Indian's mind.
Even other sports except perhaps football(Soccer) can replace cricket for next 50 years. Problem with football is that India has not even achieved a sembelnce of success. If India succeeds in football as much as it has in Cricket (However small cricket success may be), then cricket will be almost wiped out of India

I think Jeev will bring us more joy and pride in this one tournament than Tendulkar did in his entre cricketing career. One is 15 nation spor and the other is played bythe whole world. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JEEV

Kis mod se shuru karun. Rediff need to first start simple leasons in Golf . What is the percentage of Indians who know about GOLF ? There are enough sports with less capital required which needs promotion .

India won a Asian Games Golf Gold medal - and you never made an attempt to learn about the game. It is a game of elite (perception) but there are many Indian Golfers who were caddies - bottom line is passion not capital.
