"I am anguished that I had to make a choice between the two disciplines. As I have repeatedly said, the entire concept of one man-one discipline defies logic and will definitely hamper India's medal chances at the Asian Games," Advani said.
Sports administrators, selectors, referees, coaches and such non playing figureheads should try to banish anguish, pain, bitterness and dejection from the lives of our sportspersons.
We need to keep our sportspersons mentally and physically focussed, happy, cheerful and geared for the go. Sports, music, art and such sublime forms of human expressions need conducive climate and a healthy composition of place and mindset.
Our sports persons need all the encouragement during their playing years. Stopping them from playing, writing obituaries when they are still performing shows we understand very little about what it takes to be a sportsperson and motivate day after day to compete with the very best in the field.
People in sports administration need to be the ones who have done serious sports in life and understand some bit of sports psychology.
Unqualified people should be disallowed to handle sports affairs in our country.
This is absurd. The IOA must intervene and force the BFSI to change their stance. When the players themselves are ready then what is BFSI's problems? Every medal in Asian games is valuable and we cannot sacrifice them needlessly.
