Kudos to the Indian team, they are true sportmen - they've shown the world that they are in sports just for the sport and not to win - winning is for wusses. Otherwise, how does one explain their abysmal performance. If only there was a Ministry of Hockey, maybe things would've been better - maybe Sharad Pawar's portfolio should be expanded to include Field Hockey in additon to Cricket, Farmers Suicides and Wheat Shortages, failing which, they can appoint Kolkatta's Commissioner of Police as the new Hockey "Boss", with freedom to choose the coaches, team, parctise sessions, tactics, uniform etc. Who knows, it might just do the trick.
I go with anurag against KPS Gill, bcoz the player like dhanraj should had given the chance. If he had been it would be an different result. Lets all support to bring back our Dhanraj to the team. He is an sachin of hockey.
hey, Its so shame that a country, which is having so much human resource & at the same time hockey as its national game, cant find even one win in the world cup.Its so pittyfull...I think Indian hockey team needs a revamp and start from the scratch....the team doesnot have that killer instinct or die hard instinct....i watched pakistan's match against argentina, and man o man they were so die hard in their play trailing with one goal....they gave their 100% ,but luck was not on their side that day...but still they played very well and fought till the very end....... nimit
Mr K P S Gill, All your doing! You are squarely responsible for having brought the standard of Indian hockey to this level, thanks to your auotocratic way of handling players like Danraj and Co. Is it not time that you appologise to the nation for your wrong doings and quit from the post of the President IHF? Let all hockey lovers raise this issue with the Govt. to get players like Danraj, Jude etc to salvage the pride!!!
Indians should be ashmed of their performance and it is always that these cowards have disgraced their country... People at the helm should immediately be taken to task and all allowances / sponsorships etc be stopped immediately. Guilty players and non-performers should be thrown out and a fresh team constituted. It is better to have new faces and a foreign coach with total non-interference of Indian staff and officials.
With a nation as cricket crazy as India - what is one to expect ? A fraction of the resources that are poured into cricket go into other games like hockey. And that is such a huge pity...................Outside of a few countries - cricket is seen as a rather obscure game. Indians live in a fool's paradise when they think they are a great cricketing nation.............the rest of the world is not even bothered. Unless we come to our senses - fine games like hockey and football will continue to throw up such pitiable results.
