Great Morale Booster Win For Paes Damm
by Atul. R. Ajgaonkar on Sep 11, 2006 01:31 PM

Heartiest Congragulations to Paes-Damm for winning the US Open.
Though being Match points down(5) they showed tremendous grit to comeback and win the SF Match, also in the final, their task was commendable after losing a Set and being a Break down in the 2nd.
The win should prove to be a real morale booster for paes-Damm as well for Tennis Youngsters in India, as the recent results didn't show much promise.
I Would like to discuss some thought Provoking Points as follows:-
1.Both Paes & Bhupathi have won just 1 Grand Slam Title(Men's Doubles) since 2001 June, Together they have won over 30 Titles including 3Grand Slams in just 4 Yrs(97-01).
I dont know why are they not playing together as a Team. Are there any Ego Problems? They could have achieved a lot till now if they had played together since 2001.
Bhupathi for eg. has won just about 2 Mens Titles for the Last 2 Yrs Now, How does he Explain this?
Tennis is such a great game,I wish a lot more people see Tennis and also playit,Tennis automatically keeps you fit and healthy,Being an Individual sport, you can earn and achieve a lot.
I wish the Govt.encourages & promotes the Sport.

Answerd to Mahesh ...
by amitd on Sep 10, 2006 07:40 PM

Well what a Great come back...
Superb answer to Mr Bhupathi...
Their pairing was superb..
But then it hurt leander More than Mahesh
when they broke up..
Mahesh was up on the chart with Mixed Doubles.. and Leander struggling on Personal and Professional front..
But He showed why he is Greater than Mahesh.
Leander is Our Hero unlike Opportunist Mahesh..
