First Black Driver???

So was Narain Kartikeyan Considered to be White? Maybe he was in \"GREY AREA\"!!! silly Headline this!! You might have written first Driver of African origin. But that would not be true as He comes from the Carribean. The Blacks in America are called African Americans, on similar lines you may call Mr. Hamilton African Briton, right?

Agreed , its yer another 'first' for formula 1, but the bottom line is that that scarcely matters when you are in the cockpit.
Hamilton's selection was on the cards, since Ron Dennis never hid his feelings about him.It was always going to be a toss up between Gary Puffet and Hamilton.
2 of the top 3 teams have rookie drivers in their starting line up.Heiki Kovalinien (FIN) for Renault and Lewis Hamilton (GBR) for McLaren Mercedes. However my money for 2007 wont be on either of them , I'd be backing Kubica (BMW-Sauber/POL) and Massa (BRA) being the front runners in 2007
Also, another F1 development in the recent past was the new test driver for Williams - Nakijima (JAP).This selection clearly show the muscling and maneuvrability that money gives you as a driver, rather than talent and a past record.A test driver should have some experience behind him to give good feedback to the engineers. However, with a Japanese Engine sponsor(toyota) backing him,Williams thought it was appropriate for a rookie to be their tester rather than an experienced Karthikeyan.Im sure Williams know they surely have compromised their development program with this choice of test driver
