In little over a week three renowned strikers have signed off in style. Shearer of Newcastle Utd, Zetterberg of Anderlecht and Verheyen of Club Bruges, all bid farewell with heads high. On the day of farewell, it was touching to see Shearer coming to the field with his kids, Zetterberg walking with his dad and son at Vanden Stock Stadium in Brussels and Verheyen marching with his three sons at the Jan Breydel Stadium in Bruges, all lining up at the centre of the pitch for a final bow acknowledging the love and respect they enjoyed for over a decade.

Our best wishes to these three fine players who made fabulous contribution and brought joy to millions of supporters. May Shearer, Zetterberg and Verheyen keep on serving the game and passing on their rich experience to others.

Many among us loved to watch their dedication, commitment, passion, right doses of aggression when required and their talent for all court play. Be in defence, midfield or as strikers the three made a mark and it will be difficult to forget them and their towering presence with the captain's armband.

May blessings keep pouring on these players, their families and their supporters. Good luck guys !
