Its really unfortunate to see a player of Luis Figo's calibre to do that kind of violent activity and it was captured so well by the cameras. It was not required at all and being a captain of a side, one has to lead from the front by being more diplomatic and instead Figo showed his worst temperament. This clearly shows that the most of the European teams are a hyped lot and do not have much footballing skills compared to the South Americans or African teams and resort to tactics which is more physical than skills. Its only a matter of time when Asian teams would start over-powering these so called European powerhouses.Whatever respect I had for Luis Figo and the Eurpoean teams, have faded away and after seeing Mcbride being elbowed by an Italian player, it was very clear that these so called European powerhouses are resorting to ugly tactics. Argentina would defnitely stop Germany and teach Portugal what football skills are all about if in case Portugal beats another under performing team England.FIFA has clearly failed to live upto its reputation and am sure the Fair Play Award may also be given to Portugal. Who knows Figo may want to get into "WWF" after this WC. God only knows.
