Miroslav Klose is doing well as striker !

Miroslav Klose has been an effective striker who scores goals and not just a forward who stands infront of the rest. Over the years there have been some fine strikers who excelled in the art of goal making. Brazilian Romario, Englishman Gary Linekar, Mexican Hugo Sanchez, Chilean Ivan Zamorano, German Karl Heinze Rummeinige, Belgian Ervin van den Berg, Dutchman Denis Bergkamp, Ian Rush of Wales and the Swede Tomas Brolin were prolific scorers who had the special instinct of being in the right place at the right time.

In the good old days many of us had the opportunity of seeing some fine strikers in our country. Magan Singh of Rajasthan, Bernard Pereira of Mumbai, Shyam Thapa and Ghosh Dastidar of Bengal, Ulaghanathan and Kosalram from Karnataka, Shabbir Ali and Mohd Habib of Hyderabad, Visitaçao Lobo and Camilo Gonçalves of Goa were some of the prominent names appearing regularly on the scorer's list before the arrival of I.M. Vijayan and Baichung Bhutia.

This World Cup competition still has quality goal poachers who could strike at any time from now. Thierry Henry, Paulete, Raul, Delgado, Shevchenko, Crouch, Ronaldo and Italy's Luca Toni look skillful in the danger zone.
