That the Rooney fever has reached to Rediff as well. I live in London and in the last few days especially, you can't escape being caught in the Rooney hype anywhere. The papers are all buzzing with "Rooney hits first ball in 2 weeks, Rootiful!! (Newly created from Beautiful, along with a picture of Rooney netting a ball). A private airlines, Ryanair, has offered 50,000 seats for free (airport taxes and charges payable) if Rooney plays even on a single match at the world cup! The BBC online updates minute by minute schedule of Rooney on a private jet leaving for UK, Rooney's scan, when the scan reports will the known.... etc etc, looks like the whole nation has nothing left to do other than spculate on the probable play even on a single match of a 20 year old at the World cup. This in fact will put tremendous performance pressure on Rooney, and even if he plays chances are very slim that he'll actually be able to perform at the field.
