Please check her performance last week, when she reached the quarters. Stop being a couch potato and do something urself. Encourage people when they r down !!! Don't Kick them. All Indians need to learn this.
I don\'t know why our country is over-hyped about a mediocre tennis player. Leander Paes, and Mahesh Bhupathi have achieved much much more than sania, but have gotten not even 10% of sania\'s fame and attention. Truly insane are the ways of the world!!

I totally agree with u. It was too early for her to be honored with Padmashree. Even if she wud have played well for 10 yrs and then had such a phase was still acceptable.

Sania was partly invented by media, hype and people hunt for sport star. Except in few games, we hardly have any international star to recon with. Even though Indian international sport star exists they are no better than Sania. Still Sania is hope for the younger generations,

The National padmashri(?) award was certainly premature. Cashing in on someones on-camera appeal is not what the game and/or the award should be about.
But India is only doing what other nations are doing, promoting the wrong players(case in point Roddick). Sania can play, no doubt about it, but the fame and her personal attitude is hindering her from improving.
Too bad Mahesh, Leander and many others in tennis and other sports are/were not recognized as much as she has.
He who speaks the loudest, carries the big stick..
Insn't is a long time that Sania won a big match? I fell sorry for the folks who named their daughters after Sania, since these days, sania means `getting out of the game after second round'.
Hope she lives up to all the hype that's around her.
