I commend Zidane for standing up for his family. It was a befitting reply to the physical and verbal abuse of Materazzi. If His award is being reconsidered by FIFA, to hell with it, family comes first.
..And the Italians can keep the cup that does not belong to them, the world over knows it. Or Fifa should reconsider, otherwise, the ANTI-racial reading before the start of the match is only a gimmick by FIFA.

I agree with the author... All through the tournament Italy played negative football and I wouldn't call a " shame" but still it is NOt ( Italy's win)going to do any good for football in total. Italy has proven to whole world that negative tactics will help win matches... what a shame... No youngster should take cue from this final.. Hats off to France

Author is biased in saying that only france played good football. In the whole match, france players tried to clash more with italian players sothat they can disturb their rhythm. Furthermore, its not for the first time, Zidane has been sent out. He has a reputation for this. Even in this world cup, he missed third league match as he was suspened for getting two yellow cards in consecutive matches. I think rediff should take out this article from their website.
Gentlemen, I pity you. You are totally biased. Both France & Italy have made many fouls. It is only by sheer luck France has reached the final. I believe that Italy deserved the Cup.

This is nothing but sexual misconduct and is a far worse act that what Zidane did. Added to this Materazzi racially abused Zidane. I duly support the author for his take on the finals. Zinedine Zidane was definitely provoked by Matterazi bcoz he was a constatnt threat to the Italian World Cup dream. And resorting to negative tactics was the only thing left as was also clear from the abusive defence shown by the Italian -players. Although Italy won the World Cup for the fourth time but the loser was not France but the universe of Football itself. Italy should be booed.
